My '03 Golf 2 door in black looks like a "ricer" or "euro" from a distance, so I've been pulled over several times by cops who then act surprised to see an old white lady behind the wheel and left me go with a warning for some non-existant offense. My other vehicle for several years was a white Ford Ranger pickup that looks like something out of the city fleet, and I never get stopped in it.

had one in a school zone, the day I got my car. only 10 over but not proud at all !
My sister-in-law fought really hard many years back to get an expanded school zone limit around her kids' school. Guess who the first one ticketed was? That had to be 15 years ago and we still remind her to slow down.

My last 2 speeding tickets were during the first year I had this car, both out-of-State trips, both were ambushes in spots you wouldn't expect to have speed limits decrease.

Me or my wife have not had any speeding tickets in any VW. My last speeding ticket was 1994. It was in a 1980 Fiat Spider.(51 in a 45) My wife has never had one.

Not in quite awhile, but a couple of close scares. It is awfully easy, if you're notrunning the cruise control, to have your speed creep way up there on an open interstate. At almost 80mph, the engine is barely turning at 2000rpm, and so you dont get the engine-noise feedback that might make you think "oops, too fast." At least not until you are going really, really fast.

No Red 2014 JSW. & No in the 2012 Red Jetta I traded in for JSW. (1) in red Duramax truck. 80 in a 45mph. (speed trap work zone @ 2am)
1 in red 1984 944 Porsche clocked @128 mph
(A friend of mine who was from Germany kept telling me to go faster on a longgggg straight in a remote rural area)

recently I was in a pack between Montgomery & Birmingham. on I 65 doing 80 & was being passed .

How can a specific car's colour influence your speeding tickets?
If you are driving over a speed limit, radar with catch you, regardless of car colour.
The radars are shooting infrared waves to the license place (or car's headlights) and measuring the time how soon they reflect. The entire speed detection process doesn't have car's colour in its algorythm.
You are correct sir! http://www.snopes.com/autos/law/redcars.asp

Gray tends to get the highest # by percentage. My JSW is gray, and 911 is red. No tickets in either. I do use a Valentine 1 and Waze app. The V1 has paid for itself many times over (ticket and insurance-wise). The driver never speeds in cities, towns or reduced speed zones. On back roads with no houses or people, "No comment."

I've only had 1 in my grey 2010 TDI.

I got it on a strip of road that is normally 55mph, but rapidly changes to 45, then to 35 as you pass through some towns. I missed seeing the speed change and got a ticket for doing 45 in a 35mph zone. I was going a little faster, but the cop dropped it down for being a Veteran.

I got pulled over twice in the same weekend, driving my reflex silver 2013 TDI over 80 mph. The second cop saw the first ticket and asked why I was speeding again. I explained that my TDI was "too smooth and I didn't realize I was going 80mph", which was true. He let me go with just a warning.

My theory is they are more inclined to pull you over if you look low income and broke. They are fishing for more, like uninsured, unlicensed or undocumented drivers. They don't want to waste time with 10mph over the speed limit

I been pulled over many many times for BS reasons, not speeding, in my patina'd MK1 cars....because I look poor.
