140km round trip on the daily so I use my CC quite a bit. Started to notice in the last yr or so that sometimes it seems to forget what speed it was set to and starts slowing down 5-15km before I notice. Tap the gas, BOOM it picks right back up to where it was set.

Anyone else experience this?

With someone else in the car holding the laptop run VCDS and see which switch or switches change parity so you will know where to look. Or, I may be wrong.

Mine did this after I bought it. Cleaned the intake (and EGR) and solved! Not sure if this could apply to your 2004, though I believe that clogging still happens with those (to a lesser degree- with only 140km I'd think it more possible).

I suspect that the issue with my car was that the ECU wasn't seeing the speed pulled up (it was happening on slight inclines) to match after trying to request more fueling and not seeing a sufficient increase in air, in a timely manner. Don't recall seeing any codes from this.

For me it was a bad MAF. A new one fixed the problem.

140km commute - 345k km (215k mi) on the car.

I'll look into a new MAF.
