Cranks, fires, sputters, dies, Repeat

It was a cool New England Monday morning in May. As any Monday, I fired up the Passat to go to work. Just as the title says, Cranks, fires, sputters, dies, Repeat.

I have been suffering from rough cold start driving for about 9 months.

The previous Thursday morning 3 minutes after startup and 25 mph driving, the car dies when I release the brake to takeoff at an intersection. Refire it up and proceed.

what can I check to verify it isn’t something other than injectors that are done?

obviously I try not to jump to conclusions, so any diagnostic questions are welcome.

Check the crank position sensor, had a similar issue to what you’re experiencing and this thread helped me diagnose and after replacing the sensor, everything was fine: https://forums.tdiclub.com/index.php?threads/random-engine-hesitation.522147/

Seems to be a somewhat common issue

Started the car up this evening. 70F outside. It stumbled a bit, then the glow plug light flashed. Let it idle for a minute.
Shut it off and restarted. Idles fine glow plug light was off.

Preferably, but any scanner that can read ECU diagnostic codes will shed light.
