Indeed interesting. My post disappeared. I asked if Andrew's pump was new or remanufactured and it shows you quoting hotpocketdeath as asking the question....
.
Well, at least that explains where your name came from. As to how and why it happened - it sounds like FM to me.

I wonder if Andrew sells remanufactured or new?
Actually, I do not believe that Andrew sells the pumps at all (new or re-man). What he designed, tested, and sells (or will sell - hopefully) is an adapter kit necessary to use a "mini" CP3.2 pump in our cars. IIRC, YukonLT sourced his CP3.2 from some place in the UK. Check out his install thread, it might have more info on how (and where) he got his pump. http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=444018

Erm, I don't know what's going on, but I didn't ask what you have me quoted as asking.

I know Andrew sells the adapter kit, but reading through the threads I know the pump comes from somewhere else. I've just been trying to determine the part number or source so I can look into getting one.

The pump comes from Bosch:). I'm fairly confident that the kit will include the pump. I attribute the vbulletin mixup to either solar flares, or tdifest shenanigans. Haha.

I can confirm the kit that Schreibers and I installed this last Tuesday included a new CP3 pump from Andrew (2Micron). The kit included everything needed to complete the install. I would hope everything is included since the cost for this kit with the filter is over $1,000.

hotpocketdeath: I was looking through my pictures for a part number, I couldn't find it.

I think the kit is a great value. Take a look at what new cp3 pumps without core exchange are going for. I'm sure most of the auto manufacturers went to the cp4 for this cost reason, not because they thought a vastly inferior pump design would be an improvement. I think Andrew would prefer we don't broadcast the part numbers until his patent process is completed. Congrats Schreibers on the install! It was nice of Walkingdrunken to lend a hand.

I installed Andrew's kit last week. His kit comes with the correct model CP3 pump (NEW, not remanufactured). It also comes with all needed adaptors, fittings, etc. It is a complete bolt on kit (except for the 1 micron filter and TTY nuts & bolts needed due to removing/installing the timing belt). Andrew referred me to a good source for the 1 micron filter.

Andrew did a lot of work making this kit a reality. It isn't as simple as sourcing a "CP3 pump" and bolting it on.
Andrews work finding the correct model CP3 with his custom adaptors and fittings is what makes this kit special.

Timing belt kits are available through DieselGeek.com, IDParts.com, Boraparts.com, etc.

Just installed my cp3 today, took about 8 hours with the high pressure delete as well. No issues at all, took minimal priming and started right up, the hardest part of all of it was the removal of the HP egr pipe but even that was manageable. Great kit indeed! Thanks Andrew!

Yea, that HP EGR pipe is time consuming, especially if you have big hands. My knuckles were pretty beat up after I deleted mine.

Ugh, I had almost forgotten about how much of a pain that was...and you guys had to bring it back up! lol

Glad to hear about so many more CP3's making their way into our cars. Such a great upgrade :)

Congratulations cambroscams!!

That makes five CP3 installed CR TDIs? (YukonLT, Paulinski, schreibers, UberVW_TDI & camroscams).

The exciting news is the size allows almost bolt on in place of the stock CP4.1. This will be the way to go, "Pushing the limits" of our motors. Mini CP3:

Andrew

Just stumbled upon this thread. This is some superb engineering and adaptation to fix VW's woeful design. Hats off to 2Micron and the others who assisted. Fine work on the cog and pump adapters. Great to have the lift pump piggybacked on the rear too.

Looks like the Bosch 0 445 010 033 CP3S3 pump used on Nissan/Renault/Opal G9U/G9T 2.2 & 2.5 DCI engines, so parts should be plentiful and reasonable for years to come if spare parts are ever needed.

Andrew love to put this kit on my car if you are selling. I've got my timing belt job to do very very soon. Seems like the right time.

I'm seriously considering this option. Took my '09 in today for its 120k service (interesting time to be at the dealership with all the VW drama). I said to the service rep (who owns a 2010 Jetta TDI) "so I'm now driving a car that has a part that could go out and cost me ten thousand dollars". He said, "yes, between 8 and 10 thousand." I replied, "Wow." This was all kind of rhetorical because we've discussed this matter many times. I showed the rep 2micron's filter kit on my smartphone and asked if they would install it. He said yes, but they couldn't warranty it, of course. I might go with an independent if I take the HP3 route. A ride to St. Louis to see Oilhammer, perhaps.

I would be really interested to find out how this goes if you have Oilhammer do this upgrade. I may just do the same in a year when I should be around the timing belt time.

CP3 kit update: I installed Andrew's (2micron) CP3 kit with my timing belt replacement. My car is running perfect!!! So far I've got 3,600 miles on the CP3 pump. Just completed a 1000 mile road trip (46.4 mpg average on the last road trip...almost all at 75 mph speed limit roads).

I'd highly recommend this solution for those planning on keeping their cars long term.

☆ Update 24NOV2015: 7,000 miles on the CP3. Running perfect!!

Overall, what was the end cost of everything (not including TB stuff)? if you dont mind me asking. Just need to start putting money aside for this kit in case mine blows up.

Awesome! I have about 4 thousand miles on my cp3 kit, and loving it. Pretty sure I picked up a couple mpg's. There's something very satisfying about addressing a design weakness.

Cost of the CP3 upgrade is less than half the price of what it costs to replace the failed components of the cp4.1 pump.

Talk to 2micron (email is better) for exact numbers.

So is this pump project dead?

Hardly. Barely even baptised. I imagine Andrew wants to get some miles on the kits before unleashing them on the general public.

Andrew is working on retooling a part or two. I'm on the list for one of the next kits to go out. These kits are available for purchase. Give Andrew an e-mail at tdi2micron@yahoo.ca

Andrew's parts have excellent machining and fitment. Shot him an e-mail and get everything started, you won't be dissapointed.

By that time, VW will have bought my TDI back...
Volkswagon has made it clear that the last ditch option is to buy back the car. In other words not likely to happen.

But if you want to get rid of a car that is capable of 40+MPG you should sell it on the private market. FYI, the private market hasn't really been bothered by this whole thing:

Now, with that said let's stay on track here :D

Wife's car is at 65k now, will definitely be looking for one of these when the TB maintenance is due. Which probably won't be long at 800-900 miles a week.
