Anyone know of anybody that sells a pre-bent fuel line to bolt up for these conversions so no bending is required?
You have to select it from the drop down menu. I'm not sure if they would sell it separately. Can email them to ask.

Hi all, is there a difference between North American BMW R70 pump vs the European BMW R70 version? I am starting to collect parts to do the conversion on my new found love a CC Tdi. I wanted to do the cp3 conversion while I was doing the CC Tdi swap and the engine was on the floor but left it for later since I wanted to make sure the swap is 100 percent successful, now that the swapped CC has 11k miles on it I am ready for mods. 😍 Any help will be appreciated. TIA

Anybody have a big drop in mpg after the install? Just did a 300 mile trip that I often do, usually get 50mpg and I got 34 according to the dash. Now I did put on my snow tires and the temps were cold, however that usually only drops my mpg by 3 maybe. Could something have happened during install to cause this? Maybe the tune is just overfueling? Never have I seen below 40mpg in the 4 years I've owned this car.

Part # is 0928400643
thats a perfect one. All I can think of is snow tires plus snow on roads creates more drag? plus diesel fuel goes into winter blend that will reduce mpg's as much as 3-5 mpg drop to prevent gelling up.

Just unboxed my CP3 to get ready to install it and the damn metering valve is broke. Going to be lucky to get one this close to the holidays.

Anybody have a spare 0928400643?

Which kit did you get? Or did you just buy the pump on its own?

it happened to me as well with this 2micron CP3 kit. FMV connector socket broke. it was the shipping company's fault. seller covered the damage so he sent me a new one and slapped it on in Feb 2019 at 25k miles and now 183k miles troublefree.

That's funny, ordered mine from darkside and the fmv connector also was broken. The packing job was terrible and the CP3 was bouncing around with a bunch of other stuff in the order. They were good about sending me a new FMV within a few days though.

Installation Problems - Banjo Fittings Not Aligning Properly (Whitbread CP3 Kit)

In the process of changing the Thermostat, installing the CR170 Turbocharger, doing the Timing Belt Service and the CP3 Fuel Pump Upgrade. All going well, thermostat an turbocharger complete, timing belt removed, the CP4 removed, the CP3 is mounted, the high pressure fuel line reshaped and connected, and now ready to connect two remaining lines to the pump, this is where the problems developed.

Return Line - the banjo fitting needs to mount at an angle to clear the pump housing. This is causing the elbow hose to not like up with the banjo barb. See picture below

Temp Sensor / Fuel Feed Line - location of the port on the pump is not like other pictures online that I have reviewed. The port for the banjo fitting is located in the back of the pump instead of the side. And the port is much higher than other pumps online causing interference with the engine cover (ie the engine cover will not mount on that corner). See picture below

It just seems this pump is an odd duck . It does not match any of the pictures or tutorials available online.

I have sent an email to Matt Whitbread, but due to the holidays I am not expecting a reply anytime soon. I am also reluctant to start re-engineering the installation before I hear back from Matt. So thought I would check in with the TDi Forum to see if anyone has any suggestions or has encountered this situation during their install. Thanks in advance.

Merry Christmas to all!

My cp3 from the whitbread kit appears to be the same, but with the face (interfering with the return line banjo fitting) milled down flat.

if the fitting is fine, I’d just get some fuel hose from Napa and run it for now, since it’s just a return line.

I think it’d be possible to get a plug for the return line outlet, then mill it or maybe even grind it off, but it seems like a lot of risk/work compared to a longer fuel line.

The Jetta can be down for a while. I have plenty of cars to drive (another problem I have, but for another time).

I'll wait to see what Matt suggests and go from there. Maybe he has encountered this and there is already a solution. I have some ideas. I am not in favor of a fuel line spaghetti solution so it is good to have a few down days over the holiday to think about about it.

Cheers and Merry Christmas!

it should work okay. if the fuel metering valve is the same as the ones listed before, then youll be okay without a retune. otherwise a retune is needed.

regarding the pump you orded, it appears it lacks the built in pre-HP pump which is seen on other CP3's. because of this, i believe you must leave the engine bay auxiliary pump installed. though i may be totally wrong.

Finally tackling this job along with a CR170 and Tstat and ran into this. The pump outlet to rail fitting is the wrong size, high pressure line will not thread. United pump from whitbread.

Usually comes with a thread adapter. Maybe it is still in the box?

Good customer service!

I'm now running into an issue on "hot" starts - car is warm - where the car will start and then die, unless I give it throttle.

AUX pump deleted - in tank pump the likely culprit? I'll pull codes when I have a minute
