Coolant reduction and Coolant high temperature.

Hi,

I drive a VW Ameo TDI 1.5, 110PS, 250NM, DSG DQ200.
When ever I drive up hills, coolant temperature warning appears, temperature goes up to 105 degree Celsius (220F). Also the coolant level is getting lower to minimum level without any visible leakage in about 4 months time. What could be the issue? What is the max coolant temperature safe to drive?

Many possibilities including a failing head gasket. 230 F starts to get concerning. 240 would melt overheat indicator tabs that some rebuilders put on their engines (some use lower, 230 degrees, for their indicators). At that temperature you start to create head warping.
