I have VAG-COM and it is working fine. I've tried to use the OBD-2 program from Alex Pepper (in a shareware form) and it gives me a message that says "Failure to successfully find a OBD II interface during a scan of all the possible interfaces."

Is there some communications configuration that has to be done to get it to work?

Thanks,
MCA

Are you trying to use the VAG-COM interface? If so, it won't work.

I have a real interface from Alex and it has a hard time communicating with the VW too. Sometimes it will work for a brief time, and sometimes not at all.

My OBD-2 software works with my vag-com interface. Maybe there's something special about the software...I don't know. Also, I don't think there is a 'shareware' version. It didn't work for me. It was more of a demo, but once I activated it, it worked. That's what I recall. It's been a real long time since I used it.

You need a special version...

Actually, only our old ISO-COM interface should require a special version, as would any interface based around opto-couplers (such Greg's and OBDTool Mike's).

We ceased production on the ISO-COM late last year. Our UNI-COM, TWIN-COM, and HEX-COM should all work with the standard version of Alex's software.

Please remember though, that Alex's software won't find *any* interface until you register it.
