Code P2138 Accelerator Position Sensors (G79)/(G185)...

Ross-Tech notes that the actual problem being related to the Position Sensor is slim & the car only goes into limp mode & throws the MIL while I am stopped idling never on the freeway... so the accelerator is not even being touched. Ross-Tech notes the the O2 sensor could be the culprit & ID parts suggested maybe the throttle body or regulating flap. Any thoughts?

Maybe check real time values for the pedal. These, I assume, will be in the measuring blocks of 01 - Engine. I would disconnect the sensor, make sure both sides look okay, then reconnect and check values. Tap on the pedal (without pressing it) while watching. Then press the pedal through it's range of motion several times and see how the values look. I would include going rapidly from depressed to not pressed, like what would happen if your foot slipped off the pedal, to see if the values go "beyond" the resting position, as that may also be something the system does not like.

The history of actual causes for this fault is what it is. But you should be able to rule out the pedal position sensor this way, before moving on to other (probably more expensive) things. A slim chance is not the same is no chance.

Glad to hear it! And it's always nice when the fix is what the fault code called out... especially when the first call out doesn't require a lift, special tools or tearing anything apart .
