hi all, I’m (hopefully) soon to be using a 2869rr turbo on my 1.9tdi in an 06 Fabia with the 6 speed.
Was wondering what clutches are best to use to handle the torque.
Previous guy was running 420bhp but not sure on torque.
Ive seen 6 puck clutches are good for just about 600nm, a smf is good but not good for the crankshaft as it won’t be absorbing as much vibrations produced and an sre pressure plate as they’re just better.
If anyone’s got any advice on whats best to use please lmk, thank you

First of all, where about a in the world are you ? 420bhp on a 1.9 tdi is a lot of power even for modified/upgraded clutches, you will need a single mass flywheel as DMF will not take pounding for too long at that power level. Most important is your torque levels, past 650Nm and dmf stands no chance if not upgraded.
As per clutch linings, ceramic, Kevlar or organic will be available for your requirements however some are nicer to drive than others and some last longer but may not tolerate the abuse of driven on the edge !
We need more info on specs of the car, injectors, camshaft, rods and pistons…gearbox is stock or not ?
If previous owner had 420 Bhp on the motor then it’s already a stronger clutch installed in the e car, I suggest you take the gearbox off and work with what you got there: either rebuild the clutch with fresh linings and a pressure plate with increased clamping force or upgrade altogether ! But you must know what’s inside first as deck height and part might be custom to engine specs !

Hi, so I’m in the uk and the current engine spec is:
Ported head
Oversized valves
Skilla 100% injectors
Nothings been done bottom end as I’m purchasing a half built engine this weekend. Gearbox is stock as I’m not sure what else I can do with it apart from a 4th gear support
I will of course be refreshing all the seals and bearings complete with arp studs/bolts and see about forged rods too
So clutch wise it will deffo need an smf, sre pressure plate and preferably a Kevlar clutch plate. I’ll see if I can get in contact with the guy who used to have this turbo build and I’ll get more info from him, thank you

So I've already tuned it to just over 310 hp. The engine was even bored out to 2 liters.

420 hp is quite a statement, and it immediately raises a few questions for me. How long should be the duration with +100% jets, because approx. 140 mg iq is required? For 420 hp, an air mass of 2400 mg must easily be achieved, but this can no longer be measured. Which ECU does the „bunch“ have, EDC15 or EDC16?
