Clutch is stuck on the floor

I’m out of town and my spouse reported to me that our 2015 Golf Sportwagon 6M can’t be driven due to the clutch being stuck the floor. The clutch has been acting funny for about a year now. Typically in the morning it will feel soft at first and grab in a lower position. I brought it to a local dealer several times but by the time I drive it there it feels normal and was told I need to wait until it fails so they don’t throw parts at it, I also removed a spring of the pedal so it would come back up on it’s own when it acts up in the morning. Now that it’s failed would this be a good time to have the dealer do the part 2 emission fix since I’m at around 70k and maybe score a loaner while they are working on it or should I bring it to a specialist?

I would try bleeding the slave cylinder first. How long since you bled calipers/slave?

You are probably due to replace the whole clutch kit at this point. Doing all the work to replace the slave cylinder only to find out in 20k that your dual mass flywheel is shot is unfortunately something we hear all the time.

We've found that the LuK clutch/flywheel kit is most reliable, but the SACHS throwout bearing is the better of the two, so we've been carrying the best of both worlds :D.

Cheers,

Bleed the clutch again, see if that solves the issue.

My 2015 Golf’s throw out bearing went bad a couple of years ago. That caused the clutch pedal to stay all the way down. Time for a whole new clutch assembly.
