on April 13 post # 713061 I asked to be put on the list for the club frame and sent off a check. On May 03 i questioned as to why I have not been placed on the list in post # 727674. As of today the check was cashed awhile back I have no frame and get no reply when I question what is going on. I need the frame sent or send me a check for the $11 You have my email and my address to refund the money or send the frame.

The TDIClub license plate frame is not issued by the TDIClub. They are an effort by one of our members, who donates a portion of each sale to the website owner.

If you have an issue, please contact the Jeff B. HERE on the sales link. His profile gives contact info, or send a PM.

I suspect that this is an oversight. I received two earlier with no difficulties whatsoever. I did notice that your screen name appears nowhere on the list, but YOU have to put your name on the list. Jeff doesn't do this.

I have emailed him the last contact from him was on AUG 17 he was going to "check my list". No more replies since then. I know this is not a club deal but this is bad business. I did what he asked and I expect him to make good on his end. I am glad you got yours with no troubles but looking through the thread there are a bunch of folks like me who have had trouble getting this.

I do know that he just moved, so that may be part of the mixup. I also thought it was taking too long to get mine, so I emailed him. He replied back to me in a few days, explained the situation, and I got mine in a few more weeks. So I doubt that he is intentionally trying to "rip you off."

I would suggest that you contact him again and see what he says. I bet that the two of you can work this out. He seems to be a very good person, so keep that in mind. This would seem to be a singular problem with your order getting lost, etc..., not a "vendor problem" like he is bad or something.

When I looked through the list I did not see as you said,
a bunch of folks like me who have had trouble getting this.
. Are you sure about that? Are there really a lot of others having problems? I doubt it. Perhaps I missed all the bad comments, but it looked like everyone was eventually getting their plates.

I placed an order with him and got it quickly - he was very professional. I would not have any reservations about dealing with him again.

Yeah, there's been a few slow shipments since he started doing this for us over 1 year ago. Unless I missed something, he NEVER stated, or promised to deliver the plates within a certain time after we paid - i.e. "I will deliver within 2 weeks of receiving payment." If I'm correct in that he did not make that statment, I sure don't see what you are getting SO upset about. Did he promise to deliver the frame to you within 2 weeks?

I'd really like to get one of the frames, but for the life of me can't figure out who's selling the things in order to PM them, can't figure out how to get on the list, and can't figure out where to send payment. The only clue I've seen is a thirty-some page thread, and I'll be dipped if I'm going to wade thru THAT to get one of the frames.

Go to PAGE 1 of the 30 page thread and you'll find the name:

Jeff B -- TDIClub name

and pricing info:

I have some good news to all of you who want frames, I've worked out an agreement so I can get frames at a slight increase in price, I do mean slight. The price for the frames will be:

PAYPAL: to Jeff_Borofsky_00@yahoo.com 10.50 includes shipping and fees

Check: 11.00 includes shipping and fees....

I found that checks are a real headache....

I waited about 6 weeks for the 2 I ordered to be delivered. I paid via Paypal. Mine went on my car the day it arrived, the second went on my sister's car about 5 weeks later.

I have sent neumerous emails to Mr. B but he has made a choice to not respond to me. I have a cancled check he signed. So far this is the most unprofesional dealing I have had with anyone on this forum. He has made the choice to fill orders that were made well after mine was placed. This is not a couple of days or weeks but months we are talking about. I need a frame or a refund by the end of the month or I turn it in as fraud.

I received my plates no problem at all, w/ very expedited shipping. I'd suggest keep trying to get ahold of Jeff - he'll work it out.

To sparetimetoys:

I realize that you aren't too impressed with the situation, but I'd like you to consider a couple of things.

1) Jeff is a member here that, of his own free-will, has taken on the task of ordering and mailing out these plate frames for his fellow clubmembers.
2) Jeff is not a retail business, he's just doing this in his spare time while he works and goes to school.
3) The proceeds from the sales of these frames go to Fred to help defray the costs of hosting/running this website for members like you and me.
4) There have been a large number of frames bought and shipped in the last year and there have been some people that have had their's show up withing a few days of paying and there have been people that got their's a few weeks later. Everybody got their's that paid for them, eventually. Just be a bit patient.
5) I was the person that originally contacted Jeff and got him to re-start his little venture when I looked back at archived posts and found that he had originally done these once before. I was also the fist one to pay and was responsible for starting the list and was first on it. I still had to wait for 3 weeks and about 20 people until I got mine, but I still got them.

My advice is to cut a little slack to Jeff and I'm sure he'll work things out for you. If he doesn't, I'll send you one of mine and wait my turn for a replacement, how's that sound? Just remember, we're all here to help each other out, not screw each other over!

I guess You did not read the part about he does not respond to my email, also how this has gone on for months not just a couple of weeks.

So since he took it upon himself to do this, people shouldn't complain if they never receive paid-for merchandise?

What does that have to do with never responding to this guys e-mails, and never receiving his merchandise?

3) The proceeds from the sales of these frames go to Fred to help defray the costs of hosting/running this website for members like you and me.
That is really nice of the guy, but sparetimetoys still paid for a product that he never received.

Sparetimetoys apparently hasn't received his in months. YOu would be upset at this point as well.

The guy isn't responding to e-mails. How busy could you be? I have a full time job and answer every e-mail that is sent to me. The guy is not being forthright.

That sounds nice, but the fact is that when a contract is entered into it should be fulfilled. Helping each other has nothing to do with getting what you paid for. The same thing happened to me, I was on the original list and waited for a while with no e-mails responded to. I have dealt with many people on this sight buying and selling, and this has been my worst experience. It's nothing personal. I eventually received my plates and all is well, but was a headache. Yeah, this guy is doing a nice thing, but at the same time, has to fulfill his obligation, that's all.

Yeah, it stinks to wait an inappropriate amount of time for something previously paid for, and no one has said that the situation is satisfactory. This guy paid for a frame and he needs to receive it soon. But ED's TDI, and the others' response has generally been an attempt to understand the situation in terms of the Club, and the community which spends so much of their time helping people, answering questions, giving advice, sharing VAG-COM, fixing other people's cars, etc. It seems the goal is to avoid seeing this in terms of contracts and marketplace vendors. Frame buyers were supposed to put their own name on the list, not "ask to be placed on the list." There was no deception in the initial and subsequent delay ("why isn't my name on the list yet?") Jeff is not out there trying to make an extra 11 bucks off Club members! I hate to think of the premise being: "Don't offer to sell things to the Club unless you are going to handle it like an on-line merchant." A mistake has been made (apparently on both sides), the lenghty delay stinks, but I'm sure it will be corrected. It is important to see it as a mistake amongst Club members, and not a case of dealing with some disreputable or unreliable merchant. I hope the situation is resolved soon.

I was unaware that this guy, because it is only a measly $11, and because it is a favor, and because it is a club, and we all do favors, is not required to respond to several e-mails. It's absurd. It isn't a mistake, it's being flagrantly unprofessional.

I was the second name on the original list, back when it was a "feeler". I sent Paypal as soon as a price was announced.

After waiting some 6 months without a frame, and seeing people who just signed up 2 weeks ago receive their frames, I started watching more carefully. The post was supposed to be the "official order form", and at the time I gave up, there were over 100 names on the list. Numbers 75-100 had almost all reported receiveng their frames, while 18 of the original 30 were still waiting. I started contacting him to get a refund. That took another 3 weeks.

I agree that he's doing a favor to the club, and I applaud him for that. However, I think that his methods leave a bit to be desired...if he's swamped, then he needs to ask for help.

That's just my opinion. I know many here have received good service. I'm not trying to bash him. I just think maybe he bit off more than he can chew, or needs to get better organized.

Regardless of what everyone's experiences have been in dealing with Jeff, the fact remains that sparetimetoys hasn't received any response and is dissatisfied. In my post I offered to send one of my frames to him until he receives his from Jeff or receives a reply from Jeff regarding the status of his order. This offer still stands.

As for those that wish to debate the different aspects of this situation, let me give you a bit of food for thought. People like Jeff (and many others here, too!) take time out of their busy lives to organize a product that they then make available for the membership of this Club and then get slammed when someone is dissatisfied with the product/service/delivery or whatever. The proceeds from these little ventures go towards helping Fred run this website that everyone here seems to be taking for granted. What hapens if nobody sells license frames or t-shirts or whatever? No monies are donated for the hosting of this website. What happens when the costs of running this website keep going up and up, especially now that there's over 25,000 members and still climbing? It either shuts down (Nobody wants that!!!) or Fred starts implementing a user or membership fee. How does $5.00 a month sound, or maybe $10, or even $20? Bandwidth and runnning a server all take time and money. Why should Fred continue to do this if he has to pay out of his pocket? Also, if people here keep complaining about those that go out of their way to provide a service for the membership, pretty soon nobody will, including Fred, as he's running this website purely out of the kindness of his heart, not because he's being paid to do it. Same as Jeff. Once again, I'd like to suggest that we all take a deep breath and relax. Jeff will straighten things out as soon he can, I'm quite certain. Until then, PM me you address and I'll gladly ship you a frame until you get your own.

Considering all of the people who have got their frames (including me), I think you are the exception. I understand how you feel, if I paid for something, I would want to receive it too! But I'm sure Jeff will get things corrected and you will have your plate frames.

There is a paypal button on the homepage. I have donated to this site on more than several occaasions. I use it all the time (the site). How about everyone donates $20 right now? I will be the first.

Jeff has made NO contact to the neumerous emails I have sent trying to resolve this issue. As of this weekend if I get nothing from him I will go to the post office Monday morning and file a complaint. This involves them as it is done through the mail. While some of you were nice enough to offer to send me one of your frames it is HIS responsability to make good on an offer HE has put out and acted upon be myself and others. This has not been a short term issue as some of you may think but an ongoing problem between him and myself.

Jeff B it is time for you to answer these posts. Why have YOU failed to respond to any contact from me? Why have YOU failed to send the frame or refund?

I've been watching this situation for a couple of months now...was thinking about getting these plate-holders myself...really wanted them bad. But I didn't dare put myself at the end of that long, chopped up, drawn out list of names that somehow never quite kept itself together through postings and re-postings. So I looked into getting one made myself, but never really did anything with that, either.

Then this post came out for the "other" plate holder...and I decided to bite. Haven't gotten them yet, but I have much more faith that I'll be getting them within a couple of weeks than if I'd put my name on that first list.

I know how it is to have a project get away from me...but a guy's got to be willing to ask for help if things are getting over his head....

Jeff, if you need help, ask! And if you need stock, ask Chasone! He's got lots!

george

PS...got them last night...and they look great! Only 1 Week from order to delivery! Wow!

I too have ordered from Chasone. Sent him a personal check on Thursday and got my frames the next Wednesday. Great service.
