I found a 2003 Jetta parts car. I need the windshield ,headliner some interior parts provided the are intact. Im damn sure gonna take the upper intercooler pipe cause thats the one that gets a hole milled in it by the steering pump pulley. Im wondering if I should snag the mechanical fuel pump.
I may go hog wild! Anybody can think of other parts I should snag off there ? N75 valves and such . Has the 1.9 diesel . Im pretty excited on that find .

Heck, take the whole car. Hard to put a price on having an entire parts car at your disposal, it’s extremely handy some days.

I came back to say the 109 relay. Most legitimate salvage yards won’t sell you the whole car, at least around here they wont. Otherwise, absolutely buy it all and take parts when you have time or need em

I'm not sure of the miles on this car, but I'd grab the head and possibly transmission if its a manual.

Good heads are getting hard to come by same with the 02J EGR trans.

yes good Idea. Im going to look at it Monday. if its a low mileage engine maybe Ill take it and the tranny and CV joints. Im thinking maybe it was a automatic tranny when it went out they scrapped the car. It is a ALH 1.9 diesel though . Hopefully nobody gets to it before me. However in this area of South Texas I have seen very few 2003- 05 Jetta TDI's. Of course one reason being its a 20 year old car. Most people in this area arent familiar with them at all. Only the Mexican Nationals I work with love these cars . They are made in Mexico so thy know about them and there is a lot of them South of the Border. In Mexico if the car doesnt run they pull the engine out and hitch up a donkey to it . Not kidding no joke Ive seen it

Well I went to look at the parts car . I was processed and photographed which pissed me off. I walked about a quarter mile through mud , with Mosquitos attacking me . There was no wind and about 100 degrees. Watching every step to make sure a screw or whatever didnt go through my tennys. As I went through the yard all I heard was Tejano music . Looks like some people just spend their whole weekends up there stripping cars. Cooking Cabrito between engine pulls.
Anyways I found the car opened the hood and there was a TDI engine right there in front of me ! Im thinking the possibilities are endless .
I was getting attacked by Mosquitoes so I had to get the hell out of there .
Didnt look like anybody really got to it .
Next time Im going back with boots , protective clothing, Mosquito spray and a boom box spewing out Barry Manilow music and a barbecue pit to cook a goat .
