check light

i am new at this need help for jetta 2000. the check engine light came on. my mechanic scaned the car and it said it is a problem with the glow plugs and i should change before the winter the plugs and the relay to be safe. i called the dealer to check for the avalability of the parts and the parts person mensionet they hed a similar situation and it was the glow plug harness. can anybody help please. thanks eorge11375.
