I had a bad glow plug. I replaced the glow plug but auto zone won't reset the check engine light. They said it would reset after a few miles. I have driven 500 miles and its still on. Can I buy a cheap obd2 scanner and reset it or should I just wait?

A glowplug code almost for sure will not reset by itself (have seen a couple of scattered reports but they are very rare) but yes any OBD-2 scanner should be able to reset it.

Some codes will self-reset... but the glow plug code does not generally appear to be one of them for some reason.

Save your $...undo your wire from battery terminals BOTH + and - from the battery and cross the wires together...5 mins should do it...this resets the ecu :)
