Hi new here but have been doing several searches regarding this all across the internet without finding a clear answer. I have a 2010 Jetta that has some chassis creaks in it when going over bumps or rises in the road. I found the Ultra Racing chassis braces (http://www.ultraracing.my/catalog/index.php?id_category=446&controller=category) but I'm not sure if they would fit the Jetta. Do any of you know if the braces from a Mk 5 Golf will fit the Mk5 Jetta as well? I know they share the same chassis but would they still bolt up?

I'm not really looking for the braces to improve handling, just firm up the chassis. Wish there was a strut brace that fit the TDIs as well.

A lot of times the creaks are from the sub frame moving around. You can usually see if the frame was moving by looking at the interface with the frame and you should see a little scuffing where it was moving. Other sources of creaks can also be the front strut mounts. Especially if you lowered your car and put on stiffer springs. On my car both the sub frame and the mounts started to creaking after I upgraded my suspension to some konis and poly bushing control arms.

The fix for the problems was some pricey brass bushings from tyrolsport that limit the sub frame moving completely, or you can do the VW fix (there a TSB on it) of bigger passat bolts and a stupid shim. The reason I didn't like the vw fix was it plainly didn't work for me and the tyrolsport worked instantly. If it turns out to be the strut mount there are a few nice redesigned version the eliminate this issue, im running the 034 motorsports one and so far no complaints.

Creaks over bumps means the sway bar bushings need to be replaced.

A questionable aftermarket part won't make up for worn parts. Strut braces are pretty much a wast of money.

Strut braces are useless on most late VWs because the way the firewall is bonded to the strut towers. Very stiff setup.
