I can definitely help you on the intake and racepipe, but I'd like to watch somebody do some front pads and rotors since I haven't done them before myself!

No that is not too much.

Front brakes are easy.

Just try to closely control the mess from the intake cleaning. It can get out of hand. Please bag the intake immediately, then take it to a car wash to unbag it and do the initial cleaning. A car wash is two miles away.

You can bring it back for final cleaning.

I'm in. I'll get a liter of DSG fluid and would like run a fluid level check if somebody can VAG an '09 and has the filler tool.

Looking forward to seeing everybody again if we aren't to busy working i will be more than happy to lead, whoever wants to, on a nice country/back road drive. There are lots of great twisty low traffic roads in the area. so good thoughts for dry weather and mild temps would help for a great wintertime GTG. But weather won't in any way keep us from having a good time together. Does any one plan on coming in on friday? if so we'll plan on some fellowship maybe a tech session or 2 and some barley pops. Just found out that DidJettaRun has worked out jobber pricing with the local VW dealer for us. Some pricing is very competitive and some is reasonable taking in account shipping but we still have to pay sales tax for purchasing locally. So if you are planning to buy parts to install at the GTG please let him know ASAP to check pricing.

I can definitely help you on the intake and racepipe, but I'd like to watch somebody do some front pads and rotors since I haven't done them before myself!

If I can get my calipers powdercoated in time, then you can watch mine. I've already done pads and rotors, but the calipers will be taken off and exchanged, so it's kinda the same lol But again, that all depends on if they get powdercoated in time.

Several folks have spoken with me about doing group buys from your favorite vendors. This is purely to save on all of the freight charges for individual orders. When you place your orders let them know that it is stuff for the GTG in Chapin at Dan's and all of the stuff will ship to Dan's.

There is a chance that Jeff will come. It depends upon how much snow they have in the North, and his resulting snow mobile vacations, as well as how many customers are signed up.

We will not really know until the last week or so.

We will do this the old fashioned way. I will start keeping a list and re-posting it in the first post. This may take me a while to get it started.

So periodically re-read the first post.

Dan, I'll let you know if I get the calipers powder coated in time or not. I would then need to be put down for brake fluid change/caliper install whatever. Well, I gotta get the rebuild kits too....I'll let you know either way. Plus if I get everything powder coated, I'd like to change out the valve cover too, which doesn't seem like a terribly difficult thing to do. But again, I'll let you know, right now, just list me as an attendee. (and if I can convince Matt to get a TDI before then, maybe him too )

Dan, I would like to come. Never been to a GTG. PM me where it is in Chapin. I am just interested to find a trusted mechanic to do a TB and a DSG fluid/filter change. I will have a look at a rocketchip and will let you know.

If anyone plans to drive through Tennessee, remember that I-40 is completely blocked at the TN/NC state line until February 2010.

Man, I'd forgotten about that. Anybody have an alternate route to suggest to me? Coming from Central KY. Prefer NOT to have to drive to Pikeville and down US 23, but will if I have to.

Guess I'll be going to Pikeville. Normal route 414 miles. Detour to Pikeville 470. Going I 77 is 563.

According to mapquest, it only adds 45 minutes to overall trip via Pikeville. Get to see the Tri City area of TN by this route.
