broken vacuum line to N75

I am suprised that you are seeing these codes with just 1K, but I do not think that it is warp field collapse. You should probably check the connections and make sure that they are clean and secure. Then go to group 3 in measuring blocks and make sure that timing is not advanced beyond 2 degrees BDTC. Also, if you keep getting the fuel quantity adjuster code, then play with the IQ via hammer mod.

I also think that the turbo control deviation may be caused by either a boost or vacuum leak since it is a negative deviation.

After doing this, clear the codes and try again. I hope it works for you.
Found a broken vacuum control line to the N75 actuator.
Been running great for months now.
I should have followed up with this post sooner.

She is now complaining it isn't enough power, so...
I am now going to put in a pot and give her more power, along with a thermocouple to monitor and protect against overheat meltdown.

Thanks all.

So last night it was mint. Ran smooth at idle. Then this morn get up for work
Start car. Ran fine then cel. Injector circuit alteration. Did I just have it set to high?

Possibly. I have to remember to switch mine to open (off) before starting the engine. Once it has started I can close the switch and shunt through the 900 ohm resistor, but starting with the resistor active produces a quantity adjuster fault CEL.

This would avoid that issue, but I haven't been motivated enough:

Here's my install on the 99.5 Jetta. I used a 1K Pot, 470 ohm resistor, and a push on/off switch, all mounted under the dash to the right of the accelerator.

Switch and Pot are within reach with your right hand just under the dash:

There's a little trim piece that I removed, drilled the holes and mounted the pot and switch outside the car, then reinstalled the whole setup neatly.

Here's the wiring. the 470-ohm resistor is wired in series with the 1K pot, so I can adjust the resistance between .47 and 1.47 K-OHMs, a pretty good range for this mod. You should be able to find the sweet spot in that range. The on/off switch allows you to disable the whole setup.

I only turn the switch ON to activate this mod when I need the extra power. Normally I drive for fuel economy and reliability, with the switch OFF. I have never had the CEL come on with this mod, and it produces good power for the money.

Of course, do any mods to your car at your own risk. I assume no responsibility for your results.

I installed a 1k resistor on a switch as without get the pig tail and cel on start up on my 2001 tdi. Now once started and flick the "fun" switch it increased torque feel significantly. I recommend this to anyone as it works great. Hats off to Evry for this mod.

How did you tap into those teenie tiny wires on the harness. There is hardly anything there to work with?
NOWHERE have i found any illustrations on the hookup to these 2 wires (2&3) on the harness.
If someone who has done this mod could post some photos it would be most appreciated.
The rest of the illustrations here are great and thanks for those.

I used wire taps, ( not sure on the name) one side of it goes over the wires in the car and the other has your wires which go to the resistor, then you push a small metal piece through the insulation on both wires and viola!!! It taps into both wires and holds it in place!!!

I'm having this tune done on my 2006 next Tues (11 Jan): http://www.giacusa.com/programs.php?mpid=238 I'll let you know how it works. I'm going for stage 1 tune, and expect 20 hp, 40 ftlbs torque; standard original clutch. Also getting timing belt done (5 years since build in Feb 06).

I'm going down to the garage to put in an iPod connector for the original stereo right now...

You can short the fuel temp sensor with 300 ohm resistor, kinda like the Every mod.

Did this mod today, fitted the resistor and a switch just above my pedals.

Got a friend to get some parts for me from work, he got a 5k pot and some heat protective cable. Ran the cable through the engine bay just under the dash. Set the pot to 1k5 and then had a drive about to get the engine warm.
Turned on the switch and lowered the pot resistance down (not sure of the value) to get a lumpy idle and drove but the car was cutting out at about 3k rpm think i was too eager to try it! So I increased the resistance up until it was only very slightly lumpy on idle so you could only just tell. Tried it again, and the difference was amazing! Acceleration was insane! Having a hard time stopping the wheels spinning in first. Made my catback straight through exhaust sound even better than before!
This should keep me happy for a while!

Few pics of the switch and pot mounted underneath steering column, above the pedals:

I did this mod tonight. I must admit i boobed it at first by going from pin 1 to 3 instead of 2 to 3. I fixed that and have a 560 ohm resistor in the circuit. oh boy what a difference. this will suffice untill i get a legit tune and nozzles for sure :D:D:D i didnt mount my switch under the dash like most. Instead I modified that little bump stop thing under the throttle pedal and added a small momentary switch so I have a wot activated evry mod.

here's a picture of what I am refering to.

the way it is right now is very un clean looking and this weekend i plan on running the wires under the carpet and making it so you have to know that it wasnt there in the first place in order to know it was added.

New to TDI's and this sounds like a great mod! However as I'm more concerned about MGPs not MPH on this car (my '73 el camino is all about the power), how does this affect fuel economy? any one do any testing driving 'normal' w/ this in and w/o it?

does this work on a ahu from a mk3 tdi?

it seems most of the info is for a 10pin harness, i have a 8pin harness in my mk2 swapped tdi

I cannot recall which two pins need to be crossed, but, yes, it can be done on an AHU TDI. I did it on my '98 Jetta TDI. The only thing to watch out for is the IQ, it cannot dip below 1.0. If you do it goes into limp mode.

Digi Z install

I have a 2000 Jetta TDI and I AM NOT a mechanic. That said, I have followed posts and done simple things that I can bolt on or remove such as AFE cold air intake and snow screen removal. I bought the Digi Z thinking it would be a plug and go, yet as soon as I looked at the plug at the injection pump with multiple connections, I quickly lost my nerve. The one page instructions didn't help. Are there clearer instructions or should I just send it back and forget about it. Thanks for your help as always.

it is pins 2 & 3 no matter what engine, car, model, year, or motor, 10 pin or 8 pin plug, if it is flybywire and has a bosch VP37 electronic injection pump, then it is pins 2 and 3 on the injection pump harness!

Read the fooking thread properly instead of skipping to the end - its in post 1 !!!

You dont cross any pins! FFS a resistor is wired in PARALLEL across wires 2 and 3 of the fuel pump harness, approximately 1K ohms, or use a variable one and reduce the value by turning the pot, until the engine shivers, then back off a bit. I use 900 ohms as my turbo'd SDi van prefers that figure. Less ohms (500 on mine) cause shiver, but I like to leave a safety margin for EGT's to not get too high.

By the way, for those interested, the guy who actually came up with this mod, Evry Schuiling, is an Upsolute tuning engineer......bet you didnt know that one eh! He posted 11 years ago on the first page or 2 of this thread, to skypup's question, as user "schuevry"....

its highway pulls up to limiter (150km/h)

Hi guys, few results of my test: I have BMW 324td with electronic pump. i tried evry mod - 500 ohm resistor + switch+ 1k pot. bridged 2-3 wires and started it, but no bad idle and no power gains were noticed even with pot turned to 0 so i removed 500 ohm resistor and went on again, turned pot down very slowly but again not bad idle but idle RPM went up( im guessing about 200 ohm on the pot)- with this setting it pulled like a train wheelspin in third and smoke like burning oil refinery :D so now what? it doesnt work like they say it should, may it be that there is some difference between my pump and VW use? im not sure its VP 37 - but its electronic bosch distributor pump.
