Just curious.

Actually, I'm looking for a good mechanic to look at my 2000 jetta tdi, I'm having some air flow or injector trouble. Any suggestions?

I'm on a little road trip rite now, in taos. I'll be in F-town tomorrow at FRMF Choppers on Murray, around noon. Driving a silver A4 Golf 4-door, lifted, tinted, bike racks, yadayada.newbee said:It's been awhile since I've been on the forum, but I'm in Farmington - 180mi from ABQ, but in a TDI, that's only 3.5 gallons away! I'd love to go to GTG and meet other TDIers.

and are you using stock wheel/tire sizes?Paulzie said:Hey Slojoe,
I'm one of those Jetta owners getting tired of flinching everytime I pass over a speedbump. I scraped bottom making a wrong turn before the Juan Tabo Branch Library lastnight . I have been considering a skid plate, but Im also 6'5" and a lift kit sounds kind of nice. I have been searching the forum and I've noticed 1" and 2" lifts. What kind do you have? And have you noticed any difference in driving or fuel consumption?
Skid plate will return its cost as opposed to a cracked oil pan. I'm lifted 2" via Metalnerd, with VR6 struts/springs, which I scored off a new GTI on the Vortex. The car rides more plush than stock, very comfortable. Cornering isn't bad, slight dive over stock on hard entrances but no wobble or pogo effect at all, I just slow down a little more before curves, still faster than all but the racers. Well worth it considering I clear all curbs. Also added a strut tower bar. Tires are up 2 sizes from stock on factory rims. Fuel mileage took a hit on the bigger tires and probably on the lift as well. Again, worth it for the clearance and general driveability in my book.Paulzie said:Hey Slojoe,

As for the VR6 struts/springs, why did you choose those over aftermarket? How much did you pay for them? On a difficulty scale how would you rate lifting your car? Do you need any special VW tools? If so, would you be willing to trade a beer for some assistance on the job? Thanksslojoe said:Skid plate will return its cost as opposed to a cracked oil pan.
