Anyone here from the California Bay Area or central coast? I'm here in Santa Cruz and it would be solid to get together with some gear heads every now and then. I know a good amount of people around here who have TDI Jettas. So there's a pretty strong community here.

I'm more North Bay (shop in San Anselmo, live in Vallejo) but do occasionally get down that way. If you get a little meet up going, I may be down to go visit.

Do it yourself, we know you know how...;)
I think you are referring to the TDIGUY vendor line under my name. I have no idea why that is there? Just noticed it yesterday.
He did the cam in my Jetta when he was in Campbell but I am not associated with him.
His website was even set as my homepage? I messaged the admin to see *** is up.
What's an associate vendor anyway?

I'm in Santa Cruz as well. I've had Matt come down for major work (recent timing belt and cam change). But i'd be interested in a GTG if he came down, I'd have some more minor work done if this happened. Thanks, Ben

I'd be down. I need a clutch and timing belt.

I like this and the idea of having club runs in the canyons in your area. I used to run with norcal-UFO when I was into 510's. (out of Ben Lomond) Club runs and bench racing/compairing notes make a great day!

The GTG's I've been to so far are not really like that. I mean they are fine for people that need their TDI's worked on by "guru's" at a discounted rate, but what about the people that work on their own cars....??

Ohh, and I am currently living in the armpit rim of GROK ~ Tracy, CA.

Yeah, it would definitely be cool to have a more regular, social-oriented gathering... Of course that just might be me speaking after years of doing nothing but turning wrenches at most of those GTGs ;)

I apparently work a lot more efficiently when not chatting. Must not have enough brain cells to do both at once. :p

I'm in Seabright near the harbor. I'd offer to host a GTG but I don't really have good space for lots of vehicles or a good spot for working on them. if anyone has a good location, let us know.

By the way, I have 8 quarts of Joe Gibbs 15W-50 Break-In Motor Oil left over from my cam change. I'd give these free to a TDI club member that needs them, you pick up, let me know.

I'm with Matt. No work, just social, and I'm down. We have a garage and work gets done there. Santa Cruz is for fun :)

Do you guys do IP resealing (2001 Golf TDI)? Would I buy the dieselgeek kits, or do you stock the parts? The injection pump was replaced about 9 years ago and has 40k+ miles on it (almost all B100). I'm trying to avoid replacing the whole thing by doing the seals first.
