Are these aluminum parts still for sale? I could use one.
You better PM Bryan42 to get a response if he is still around. I might be interested as well as my A3 is over 10 yrs old and I have not even checked it. I am sure it is pooched.

Casey.

I might just fabricate something. I found the receipt for the tube that I bought just over a year ago (12 mo warranty for parts) that is leaking. Pisses me off. It was $46 I think and it's been leaking for several months.

I've had this replacement on for 30k give or take. Other than the massive oil loss initially when I didn't tighten it all the way... It's been perfect.

Highly recommended.

Thanks for the good words, everyone. I just got eight more aluminum parts fabricated, but I still need to tap them, assemble each part, and put together the kits. I should have some ready to send out later this week.

PM me if you need one or otherwise wish to contact me, as I haven't been able to watch the forums as much as I'd like.

UPDATE: I have five more kits available is any one needs them.

There's an O-ring embedded in the flange that bolts to the block. In my case I found that the replacement VW part I had installed a year or two ago was merely loose, but I decided to pull it off and install the metal one from Bryan. So, I have a good OEM vent pipe here if you need a picture of how it looks.

It's pretty simple. Two bolts (6mm allens IIRC) hold the bottom to the block. That's all. You might find that the plastic has crumbled and the pipe can no longer be held tightly in place. That's how mine failed and I think that's the typical failure mechanism for these.

Resurrecting 2 year old thread....

A tiny vent line could easily get clogged with vapors. Plus it depends on how much you're flowing. You can't blow much air through a straw, but you can through a garden hose. Even if it is just blowing air back and forth. But you have 4 pistons moving up and down. That air has to go somewhere.

That said, people have successfully bought a block-off plate and just blocked the whole thing off.

were the OEM parts on a 1z two piece? I have some leaks between the two pieces (tube from CCV to block going down the front of the engine). OEM part 028103491J looks to be one piece.
I guess it will fit fine.

Dont forget that there are 2 scews at the bottom front of your Block to be removed with a 6 mm. I just yanked it out... dummy! now I have to replace it. Up here in Canada the part is 45$
-By the way, how much tork should I put on these screws?
-Does the round gasket come with the new part?

Anyone know if I can get one of these upgrades? I am on my second CCV breather hose in three years. The factory model is junk and I just assume replace it properly. Thanks!

I had a local machine shop make a flange for me, using the original CCV flange for dimensions.

Not Avail

Bryan just emailed me that his source is gone. No more of these.
I wish this post could be deleted.
I waited 2 days for a response. Now just going to buy OEM.

Bryan sent me his CAD drawings for his part. I actually redrew it using a web site app (www.emachineshop.com) and was going to have them make a small batch...but I lost the file :(. If there is enough interest I could give it another go. They only accept CAD drawings in their own format over the net so i can't simply submit Bryan's original rendering.

I had planned this project last year but some health issues put it on the back burner.

IIRC, the nice thing about emachineshop.com is that they will sell off the parts via their e-store.

I just recently bought 2 spares from AutohausAZ for $16 each.
Supplies limited, or something like that.

Good looking parts - made of plastic like originals of course - with o-ring included.
