crickets...

Marty, that is not a 'ball hone' repair. If it's going to happen in-frame, you will need something more substantial and with power, like my Sunnen portable hone. But I never loan that baby...

Yup... crickets...

Just coming to the realization that to do this right is going to be a lot more than I’m prepared to do right now. Just gonna put it back together best I can and park it for a few years.

Sorry. Put the used bolts back in and be sure to plug the intake so no mice or water gets in. That will ruin what's left. A package of Decon under the windshield cowling will be the 'restaurant' for any rodents that want to make your car their 'hotel'.

I hope you are able to revisit another day.

Instead of parking it, just find a replacement longblock or used head someone will sell ya cheap. Yes someone’s going to say it’s a risk, but If you got the time for it, it can’t hurt anymore than where you are at now with putting it away for a couple years.
