Searching and reading around- everything keeps leading to a catch can isn’t necessary for a tdi. For those with the Cjaa/CR tdi’s with increased boost, how are you stopping/preventing the decent amount of oil from being sucked through?

Didn’t really notice a problem until getting over 24psi. Now swapped up to a cr170 and 26psi even more oil is being sucked through the Pcv/ccv system.

For background car has been in my ownership since 9k miles… tuned @49k miles. Turbo upgrade at 55k miles (currently at 55k). I would say I’m in the top 1% for ocd towards vehicle maintenance etc….

Can you quantify "even more oil"
If it's about 1qt per 10k miles, I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're enjoying your power enough to keep oil from accumulating in your charge piping. I get the OCD part though, and for myself on my particular CR and the AWIC being known to get gunked up with oil vapor and losing cooling efficiency. I put a Burger Motorsports catch can on mine, though it is designed for the GTI/R it bolts to the firewall nice and neat without excessive tubing going all over the place. It sits over top of the brake fluid reservoir with enough clearance to unscrew the bottom so that it can be checked/emptied without needing to remove it. Maybe there is a similar setup for the MK6?

I was thinking of going with the Mann pro vent 200 on my build. I don't know if anyone makes plug and play kits, I was going to plumb it in myself.

Just looked up the design- curious your thought/idea for the drain back connection.

I do really like the filter media that comprises the center section for oil vapor accumulation…. This definitely seems like a better design for ensure the most oil vapor is stopped from entering the intake.

My thoughts were to set it up to drain every oil change, as opposed to routing back to the crankcase. However I have often wondered why more systems aren't setup to drain back. Either way, just throwing the idea out there hoping others will chime in.

What I don’t like about plugging the bottom is you would loose the volume/area for oil vapor to accumulate… and never know the volume of fluid. Maybe a hose with a lower mounted container?
