Car struggles to start after clutch replacement

Had the clutch replaced a stock Luk clutch about 4 weeks ago. Went to pick up the car at the garage and it started fine and drove fine the whole way home. Car then sat for 10 mins until I went to restart it and that's when it hesitated and sputtered for a good 5 seconds followed by a perfect idle. Called the shop up the next day and explained the situation. They explained how nothing fuel related or electrically related was disconnected so I told them I'd monitor it and let them know.

Fast forward to yesterday when it happened again. Nasty sputtering with the engine RPM between 400-500 for 5 seconds followed by a steady engine idle. Car drives fine after that.

Any ideas on what might be the cause? Vag Com is showing no faults.

TIA!

Check for (accidentally) disconnected vacuum tubes... Maybe one was partially dislodged when you received the car and later the day fell off its nipple. Moving the engine up and and down when pulling the transmission can cause it to happen.

impossible to change a clutch and not disconnect electrical such as maf sensor ground cable, positive cable, speed sensor, connections to injection pump,ac, alternator, oil pressure sensor, needle sensor injector so yes on wiring. no on fuel lines. could be they caused the chaff zone in the starter area to be exacerbated? the last two i worked on had chaffing to the starter wire and the gp harness wires.
