under posting rules, it say "you may not post attachments", why is this???? is this related to # of posts, or lack of posts, if so how many posts are needed to allow attachments.

An infinite number of posts still won't allow you to post attachments :D

If you want to put a picture in your post, host it somewhere else (Photobucket, etc) and link to it.

Gofaster is right, it conserves resources on the forum server, you'll need to host them on a separate server and link to it. TDI club also provides a server to host pics, docs, etc.., it's free, you'll just need to create another account on it (i.e. it's not linked to your forum account).. http://pics.tdiclub.com/

We do not have attachments enabled, rather we have a dedicated picture server for these uploads. This severs a few purposes:

  • Allows for browsing of images
  • Creates a dedicated resource that is available even if other hosts no longer have your images (ie photopost user account is purged, other site is turned off, etc)
  • Enables members to insert images easily into their posts and the images can then be used in the replies.

greengeeker has a link to a great How to upload/post pictures using the TDIClub picture server written by Torque_Delight.
