Cannot code new keys -Eeprom issues?

So I have recovered my pin number for coding keys from two separate places and found the same code. The login in VCDS works but when I get to the "adaptation" part of the key coding process I get "error" in the "test" box and cannot save the new number of keys and begin coding.

I sent my eeprom file to Mark Malone and he is pretty sure it is corrupted.

Another knowledgable friend says he has seen this issue with Passat TDIs before and that i need to find the factory bin file and reload it. Anyone have any experience with this or any insight?

Hmm.. How did you find the PIN? From 2 different places? I'm preparing to add a new key. I've researched how to proceed. What I'm aware of is that I need obtain the PIN from a locksmith, who quote me 100.00 to cut the new blank and obtain the PIN. I've seen the Ross-Tech video on how to proceed from there with the vag- com programming. Hope its a straight forward process..
