Yea, someone hit me at work. At least he left his info. Just have to find a good place to get it fixed.

Body by Simmont (Gary) in Pasadena has treated me very well. Excellent work. A small shop, not the fastest, burt good work. Collins Collision Eastern Ave, Middle River. The tech there is a VW (mkIV) guy.

You're in Catonsville? Small world! Life is great in 21228! I'm just a number away in 7.

I'm interested in Dent removal, paint touch up, and wheel repair. City living is rough on my car :(

Any ideas on approximate pricing though? I'm in ultra-conservative mode since I'm about to buy my first home.

Spread the Word!

We're less than a month out and response is looking pretty slim. Please see this post's title. I'll be starting a food thread in a week or so.

I plan to be there. I know of at least one more who may show up.

what kind of turnout are you looking for?

you said in the first post that there would be a separate thread to sign up and for food.

I see this with our bicycling calendar, too. No one wants to commit until a few days before the event so they're certain the weather forecast is good. Hopefully, more will chime in as the date gets closer...

Sorry if there was any confusion, but this is the thread to sign up for attending and to be put on lists for any services that you would like. The food thread is just that, what food you are going to bring.

This will be my first. What is the general feel of this GTG. Is there implication that we should be buying parts from Impex? I kinda just want to hang out/meet some other enthusiasts and get some cosmetic repairs done to my car.

I'm sure they'd appreciate it if you bought parts, but that is not a condition of attendance.

Its great! Feels just like this site, different ages and skill and knowledge levels (from noobs to gurus) hanging out and talking about different challenges and rewards of these car from their own perspectives.

You can just show up and park front and center and pop your hood if you want to talk engine modifications or park where ever and just wander around. Jump in on any conversation, introduce yourself, meet people, find out what brought them there and how far they have traveled literally and figuratively. Its great to hear people's stories, and how their car fits into their lives.

Its very casual and friendly. I'm not sure what else to say. I've probably said too much.

I was at ImpexFest a few years ago and got my Jetta tuned by Rocketchip. :D

I was planning to come this year, but my fiance's daughter is graduating from college on the 21st. Maybe next year...

I've never been to one but would love to come if you guys want to use my car as a guinea pig. I need a new clutch installed and was going to do it locally but would much rather put $$$$ in the hands of fellow TDI enthusiasts if they can use it for demo purposes at the same time.

I can also bring my Motive Brake Bleeder for others to use as well as my Oil extractor if anyone's looking to do an easy oil change.

I also have new Bosio PP520 nozzles to install and would love those put in since Jeff is going to be there to do Tunes....I'm sure I'll need mine re-mapped.

And if I feel spirited, I might buy an 11mm injection pump if someone's offering a great labor rate for all 3 improvements at the same time.

Let me know!

I too can bring my motive-power bleeder, if anyone needs it. I think 1854sailer said earlier he was bringing his.

I would maybe work on replacing one of my bearings (i've done 3 out of 4 already), then again maybe not. The front bearings suck to replace...

This kind of work is not done at this GTG....minor work only.....
and the last couple little or no work was done....
They actually have a resident mechanic there (guy who rents a lift), and he might be interested in doing some work for you. I'm sure you could call over there and find out what is and isn't possible, and how much it would cost.

I am a relative noob and would like to come but I unfortunately will be traveling at the time. Do you any of you guys know what Jeff charges for each stage of his tunes? I'm looking to get the highest possible power and mpg for my TDI while looking to upgrade just injectors and clutch. Which tune should I get?

Also how do I make an appointment with him at his shop since I can't come to the gtg?

Thanks for the heads-up. I called and spoke with Shaun who said he's not going to be doing any work in the garage that day. He wants to be part of the "show" and I can't blame him for that. Everyone needs a break from "the office" every now and again.

Will they still be open for business?? I may want to stock up on some oil for my BMWs.

Impex will be open for business. Shaun, the VW/Audi tech who rents space from them will be there, but not doing any work. I would call to make sure that they have the oil in stock.

I met up with Kory yesterday and he fixed one of my Jetta Wheels....His work is excellent as usual and pretty cheap!! he asked about IMPEX and likes coming but would like more work...He has dropped out of the tuner show at Impex the week before, because of low commitments he also doesn't necessarily like the kids that show!....please folks step up if you need the work..
