Canadian repair on US warranty tdi

I'm going to be traveling around BC this spring. If something fails during the trip, is there a process to get it repaired under my US VW dieselgate warranty?

Yes. Travel back to the nearest US VW dealer.

I suppose you could write a letter or call beforehand to VW Canada, but you'd get the cold shoulder. Same reason VW of the USofA won't give you the time of day if you ask for their help in importing a VW in Canada to the US. They are separate, they won't cover for the other, and they will turn themselves inside out to make it remain so.

Sorry, but it is what it is. As usual, it is all about money.

Yep, two totally separate organizations. You might as well take your Ford into a GM dealership looking for warranty
