I've been impatiently waiting for almost 2 months. VW is so full of it about sending them out in the order of registration. I registered 10 minutes after it went live on Dec. 6th. I should have been easily one of the first BC'ers to get it. I will keep complaining until received. It's more about the principle than anything.

OK. Now you're just rubbing it in.

Patiently waiting.
LOL!! Now to figure out how to spend the dealer portion. Service nearly due on both vehicles so that is a start. Undoubtedly they will find something that will eat up the credit in a flash....
ps I did register on the day it was announced & letters arrived about 2 wks apart. Hang in there, it must be coming!!!

Registered Dec 7, cards received Feb 3 in Ottawa (that's 8 weeks.) Activated cards today. Still waiting with everyone else for VW to tell us their grand plan.

Access Code?

After contacting VW, it turns out that the "access code" is the last 4 digits of your VIN number.
The last 4 digits of my VIN didn't work as the access code for me. Has anyone actually succeeded in getting an account set up on the website?

I don't know why they need to make this like your accessing a CSIS database. I am just trying to get my balance. What would be the worst that could happen if someone else saw that?

Edit: Called the number on the back of the card 1-866-363-7903 and used last 4 digits of my VIN as access code. That worked.

Is it standard procedure at all dealers to take a photograph of your instrument cluster (for the mileage) when activating these cards?

Maybe VW requires that as proof that the car was actually brought to the dealer, or maybe it was just our local dealer that did it.

None.
Got mine done today. A few minutes later I'm in parts. 3 oil filters, 1 fuel filter, 18L of 507 oil and 12L of 5w30 synthetic ( just regular Castrol). $17 out of my pocket. I'll keep the other card for later...

Activated mine on Saturday. Didn't even need to talk to Service, so I could have done it on days that Service was closed.

Was a bit dissapointed that the parts department wasn't really willing to order any non-VW parts.

Oh and I was quoted $250 for my 15,000km service, that's a bit more than I expected.

We paid $200 in 2010 for our Wagon @ 15k km and that was just Oil, Filter and $0.75 worth of washer fluid.

Activated my cards yesterday. According to my dealer, Southcenter VW in Calgary I had to go see the service department.
Was in and out in about 10 minutes. They just happened to throw in at the end they'd give a sweet deal on a gas vehicle.

In my mind the $500 dealer card is basically a way to get $100 worth of stuff for free, but have a receipt for it that says $500.

$300 left? You must be doing the new math...

$513.xx total and that was getting 1 set of visors for free!

The other card went towards rotors & pads we had to do on BOTH the Golf & the Jetta the last 2 months.

If you bought that stuff somewhere other than a dealer it would have been about $200. That's what I was getting at. Of course, you have no choice but to use that card at the dealer, so it is what it is.
