After reading all of the info on this site and VWVortex, I'm more confused now on what BT setup I will get.

I ordered a 2010 with the multimedia package (RCD-510) and it also has BT, but none of the documentation says 9w2 or 9w3.

Also, many discuss the RNS-510.....is there a corellation between the module you get with the RCD and the RNS?

I held off buying a phone so I could buy one with rSAP.....now I'm not sure I'll needs it.

It's a few months until I get the car.

Thanks!

Thanks - that's good info.

Does anyone want to trade in the 9w2 which does streaming for the 9w3?

It's obviously new since my new car will arrive in feb.:)

In Canada, the Golf gets the 9W2 (low) bluetooth module.

9W3 has voice control, you can import your phone book, initiate calls...

With 9W2 can only answer calls, you need to initiate a call straight from your phone. The only thing 9W2 has that the 9W3 does not, is the audio streaming.

Will the prices for BT come down any time soon??? With more and more jurisdictions making hands-free telephones mandatory, I would hope that they'd become a bit more affordable...

(I still recall that some of my friends were paying over $500 for HP CD-writers when they first came out... and those units couldn't deal with 80-minute CD-Rs...)
