According to the terms of the Canadian Buy-Back settlement, TDI owners will get a cash settlement plus the Canadian Black Book Inc. wholesale value as of Sept. 18, 2015.

I have checked their web-site, and can only get a 'current' wholesale value, which for my year and model comes back at between $9,005 and $10,770 CDN. This seems awfully low for a 2012 model TDI with 75,000 km that cost me over $27,000 plus tax.

I assume this quote is because this model is under recall and their values have been downgraded as a result. I was hoping to get in the $15,000 to $19,000 range, which with the cash-back would have made trading for a new VW less painful....

So the question is, how do I find the Canadian Black Book Inc. wholesale value AS OF SEPT. 18 / 15? There appears no way to access past values on their web-site....

CBB is very very conservative whenever something happens to a model lineup(such as dieselgate). At that point, they simply estimate. An accurate site is VMR Canada, just google it and it'll show up. Although, it is weird your 2012 is like that, when CBB estimates my 2013 Jetta TDI with 75k is worth $18,000. That number is what the market reflects. But that's market value.
