My wife took my wallet last night and forgot and went to work w it and I have 2 buybacks in an hour. Can I use my passport or does it have to be my drivers license?

Yes, passports are valid government issued ID. Chances are the buyback rep won't even ask for it.

So how did you get to the dealer without your drivers license? Looks like an admission of a moving violation to me.
