I feel like crap... I shouldn't have bought
the 99 Golf Wolfsburg I bought last year and
want to buy a 97 or 98 Jetta TDI. Does anyone know of someone who is selling theirs? I know its unusual but someone might be selling theirs because they got bored of it, or are unhappy with the performance or their wife is majorly involved with that decision...

I am in Illinois and I am looking for one. Though it may be difficult because I am also trying to sell my 99 Golf Wolfsburg which is also hard because I put on mucho miles (17K to be precise) but most of these are highway miles and I bought the car last year....

Perhaps someone wants to even swap cars/payment books? :) I know its crazy but I really should have bought that 98 Jetta TDI I "test drove" last year. I didn't buy it because I was afraid of Stick. I even screamed at the person trying to teach me stick "What the F*** is THIS!? You call THIS FUN!? Get the F*** out of here!" Anyway.... I repent...

If anyone knows of someone please give me a hand eh? Even a 97 Jetta TDI with unusually high miles is better than what I have..

Thanks.......

I feel for you, man!

Just some points to make you feel worse. A3 Jetta TDI's are in demand. I doubt really seriously that someone would get bored with theirs or be unhappy with theirs unless their last car was a Porsche or something. That leaves the 'wife factor'. Good luck!

On the brighter side you may get lucky. Have you tried the VWVortex Forums?

As far as driving a stickshift, the TDI is one of the easiest cars to learn to drive stick on.

Hope you find the car you really want.

There was someone on the Vortex selling his TDi - said he was leaving the country. Check there.

Since I have been looking for the ultimate deal on a tdi for around a year now I have found to websites helpful: 1) tradeonline.com, this site is the best. it lets you search with keywords like tdi or diesel. Last search had 56 tdi's nationwide. 2) good old yahoo classifieds. search by territory and look for tdi's.

After much thought I've decided to hold onto the car I have and making a few years worth of payments and then see what happens. I think this is the smart move at the moment but this situation has taught me in the future I will be more restrained and WAIT and see rather than go head first into something.

If for any reason their any guys or gals in TDI land just like me (you have a MkIII TDI but will want a MkIV TDI in a few years) let me now and maybe we can work something out that in a few years I can take over payments on your Loan or something.

Thanks for listening to this whiner!

It could be worse. My genius brother is trying to run his own window washing business. A month ago he leased a brand new '99 Honda Accord EX, loaded to the gills. One problem: Where do you put a 15' step ladded in an Accord? He also thought that purple would be a good color choice. It is, if you like purple. Trouble is, nobody else likes it except him! Resale vale: One handful of magic beans. (With change back.) Anybody out there want to trade your TDI for an Accord? Anybody? The silence is deafening.

Hah! With the way things are going, you'll see a 6 speed transmission LONG BEFORE you'll see the 115HP TDI.

Still... Its the thought that counts! :)
