Well, the front is lowered anyway. The rear will be done in the next 2 weeks. I'm running Zenn lowering springs with KYB shocks and struts.. The 2'' drop took the fender just over the top of the tire which is right where I wanted it.

Here's how she's sittin so far...

Suggestions? Comments?

Yeah Scurvy, a skidplate is DEFINITELY in my future. I've still got plenty of ground clearance though. I just wanted the fenderwell space taken up. I live in the Bay Area here in California so we don't get much call for snow around here. I've also never seen a lowered NB in the 3 years I've had mine so I wanted something that was a drastic diversion from the norm.

I like it.
Have you thought about spacers, front and back, just to bring out the tires some?

I would say that a search on vwvortex.com forums would easily bring up before/after spacer pics, but since the forum software changed over it's kind of hit or miss. Lots of companies sell spacers. You need to make sure they are hubcentric, with a 57.1mm centerbore, and that your new lug bolts are the correct (longer) length.

I had H & R's for my jetta for a while. They really give the car a meaner stance. Good quality product.

These guys also have a full catalog of wheel spacers for Mk4s.

Once you get the rear lowered, you could measure the tire to fender edge offset at the front and rear and get a set of spacers to eliminate it. Note: wheel spacers add load to the wheel bearings (potential premature wear) and increase likelihood of rubbing your fender at full lock or hard cornering. If you are all about style though, these are minor concerns. haha. It does look like at least your rear wheels could really benefit visually from some spacing.

Nice beetle! I like seeing lowered new beetles, they are not too common. Do you know your wheel/tire specs?

Nice. I like the lowered look too. Mine is lowered. Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs with Koni STR.T struts. 18" wheels. The front wheel well spacing is about the width of a switch blade key, the rear is just shorter than the length of a switch blade key. Skid plate is a must! You have barely a few inches from the road sitting that low. A squirrel could bust your oil pan!
