• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

It has come to my attention that Wifey no longer wants to keep me unless I buy us (her) a new Golf Automatic TDI with all the goodies. (Except for no stinkin' 4-Motion availability.

So this means I have to sell MY blue baby for a Golf. No biggie I guess...

Anyhoo, it's a 2000 Jetta GL, TDI (of course) with beige interior, nice rubber mats front and rear, cargo floor cover, serviced by myself with Delvac 1 at 5k and 10k. I have a case of Delvac that will go with it. (No filters, but if someone's ancy, I'll buy you a couple from the dealer.)

I purchased it new on June 20, 2000 from Howard Cooper in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have had no problems with it except a few rattles that were taken care of. No lost or loose turbo brackets, no anything. Just perfect.

I did, however, run over a small marsupial and I had to replace the inspection cover underneath but that's it. I'll be crying when you buy it, but if you need one for a good price that's been taken care of like it was their first born son, then this is the car for you at $17,900. And to whomever buys it, I'll give them my 1988 Acura Integra GL that runs like a top, new brakes, shocks, tires, timing belt about 10K ago, etc. It's kind of an ugly silvery-rusy around the corners, but it has 130K and it starts EVERYTIME in the sub-zero Michigan weather. That's right, I'll just give it to you since you'll probably get pissy about the $17,900 price for the Jetta. (It's what I owe on it.) Give me a call and we'll work on this.

Maybe I could even get you some driving time on our track at MIS! (Well, maybe, but you'd have to waive your rights to insurance and all that legal stuff.)

Regards,

Mike

Actually, it's "rusty" around the corners, not rusy, and the mats are VW Mats, not Autozone cheapies... (just wanted to clarify that!)

I just spoke to our track's director of ops and he said it's feasible if everybody gets their waivers signed, and there's a good number of people that turn out. I think there could be. The only thing is there's a speed restriction of about 70mph, simply because we'd hate to see some idiot hang back in the pack and zoom up into those huge turns and flatten himself against our newly painted wall. But this is possible, I'll keep working on the details and will post my findings later. (Now do you want the car or what???)

Mr. Willie:

I just got done speaking to our track's Director of Ops and he said there shouldn't be a problem as long as everybody signs their waiver forms and buys a ticket to our July Open-wheel CART Race!!!

Actually, I'll make you guys a deal. (to whomever's listening, reading) I could very easily open one of our hospitality suites in turn one for the July CART Race and have food catered, etc., at a per person cost of only $45!!! This could be above and beyond ever doing the GTG Drive-bye which is also feasible between race weekends! Spread the word. This could be big!!!

70 MPH??? that is it?

That would take forever to get around the track!

we can't go over 115 anyway for the most part and the cars are very stable at that speed (don't ask how I know)

as long as someone doesn't lift out too much going in to turn 1 or 3 it should be fine, well then I can understand - you might get some putz lifting out into the turn,
but with front wheel drive . . . I wouldnt' think it would be too dangerous . . . hmmm

do they hand out fines for exceeding hte speed limit?

Yeah, soft walls, just like the ones in Daytona... (We all miss Earnhardt and are amazed at how people come up with ideas as to what might have saved his life. Soft walls or not, hitting a wall at 150+ with a busted lap restraint ain't gonna help.) He sure has sold a lot of tix for us and NASCAR... and no, no we dont' impose fines on excessive speeders... we just close the exit gates and wait for their cars to run out of gas (dzl in this case), then we go comfiscate their car...and sell it for after-race beer jollies!
