Bv43 spool

Hello. I have a passat b5.5 1.9 avb with fmic, al injectors, map sensor 4 bars and brd 170hpcpd turbo (kkk bv43). How to make it have big boost from low rpms? Mine make full boost in 3000 rpms..

Check your actuator and your tune. Should make full boost by 1800. Stock torque is @ 1750 rpm so that is when that turbo should be spooling. Torque limiter map is probably in your way and so Is fueling. Need fuel to light the turbo.

On actuator i don t make any adjustations. Need some adjustations? My file is ok, fuel by 1500 rpm but fullboost make from 2500-3000 rpm

install another turbo, for example GTC1549VZ. Spool will be much faster

my bv43 was also slow at low revs. I installed GTB2056VL - it really spool better then bv43.

230-240hp. Turbo from volvo 2.4d with electronic actuator

BRD BV43 turbo can make around 1.3-1.4bar at 2000rpm (from 3rd gear up). I did that on 1.9tdi AVF without smoke, but N75, vacuum hoses, actuator, all should be in good shape. If it doesn't make boost, further verification should be done. Keep in mind that those cars are pretty old now, a lot of problems can be hidden. Also be sure that the 4 map sensor is proper calibrated, the MAF is ok, but is smaller for this job, should go with MAP based smoke limitation.

PS: I had also GTB205VL on AVF (on mine). Good turbo if properly converted to vacuum. I also made a CAD drawing for a flange to adapt it on 1Z manifold. It works also with original actuator on edc15 with proper software modifications.
