I've had diesel VWs forever, and now that I'm living most of the year in Mexico, I've been considering purchasing the Diesel Eurovan down here. I like that most are 5-speed as well. Not sold in the US, however, but I plan to drive it in the US. So my question for you all is, does anyone have experience with this vehicle, and any pros or cons? I plan to convert the van into a semi camper.
Thanks!

There are just too many to list....
Well first, do they even call it a "Eurovan"? The vehicle branded as such sold here went out of production some time ago.

Second, aren't the TDI manual Transporters all six speeds now, or do they sell a lower level version in Mexico? I know the current Transporter in Europe gets a twin turbo 2.0L TDI. Do they have that on offer in Mexico? Seems like that would be frightfully expensive there.

OK, so they DO actually call them a Eurovan, even though they are the next generation after what we got here. And you are looking at used ones, which may have older tech engines in them (which would not necessarily be a bad thing).

Pretty neat! I'd be curious which engine(s) those got.

From what I gathered looking at the listings, the motor is either the 2.0 140 HP, or the 2.5 170 HP. Most are manual trans. I want a van I can turn into a semi camper...i'll need to find a really good/trustworthy bi-lingual mechanic to help me!

Awesome. They get all the fun stuff. I want to bring back a Yamaha YBR125G motorcycle. Just something about a streetbike with such a tiny engine that I love.
