Buyer: Me
Seller: Hellfire
Sold: 2014 Jetta headlights
Feedback: Negative.
Seller had found my retrofit thread and sent me a PM asking about how to open the headlights. I told him they needed to be cut open, after some back and forth we agreed he'd be better off buying the Hybrid lights.
Seller put up a for sale thread for the lights, sent me a PM asking if I would be interested in them - I was looking for a second set to do some mods to, so I said sure.
The lights were sent from the seller to Jeff Rudinski, one of the vendors here, to me (he had them working on the retrofit initially and wasn't willing to cut the housings).
Nothing was said of the condition of the headlights, and nothing was said in the for sale thread about them being anything other than expected for being pulled off the car.
The headlights arrived, and the drivers side light had been pried on (typical with most retrofits), and had been partially melted (two of the mounts were melted, one completely unusable) in the oven by trying to bake it apart. I sent a PM to Hellfire saying this isn't what I was expecting and I wanted a refund.
The seller refused a refund, and luckily I was able to get PayPal to reverse the charge. The seller wanted me to send the money as a gift or to family to avoid the fees (and remove any chance of me being able to send the lights back), but instead I spent an extra $10 to cover the fees - luckily I did.
The seller also lied to the vendor on here about my paying shipping to him for the headlights, but that's between the two of them.
Overall, I'm very unsatisfied, and would not buy from him ever again. When I asked him for a refund, he said that the OEM lights are upwards of $500 new, so I got more than what I paid for with the damaged set of lights, and was very defensive throughout the process.
