Turned my car in on Friday the 13th, was hoping to see the email from chase on Saturday. It is now 9:45pm on Saturday and no email, do they send out emails on Saturday?
Turned in my car on the 14th of January, which was a Saturday. Didn't get my EFT email until 11:25 PM yesterday evening. So a little over 59 hours.

Yeah, I did mine on the 14th and got the EFT last night at 9:12 Mountain Time. I did my bit an hour later and hopefully the money is in the account tomorrow.

I think the combination of it being the last appointment on Saturday and Monday a bank holiday caused it to be a bit later than "normal" (my first JSW buyback the EFT came the next day very late afternoon / early evening). To be honest, due to the bank holiday, I was not expecting it until today.

ETA: the money was there this morning (Wed Jan 18 -- original reply was written Jan 17).

Turned in my car today, process was smooth and took only about 15 minutes. Waiting for EFT email now. Will miss my VW and nothing I ever drove, drove like that.

my buyback appointment is tomorrow, Thursday Jan 19th, at 6:30 pm. I get off work at 5:00 pm and dealership is only 5 minutes from work so I am going to head straight there. Hopefully they will see and process me early. If not I will just hang out until 6:30 pm

Have you decided on a replacement yet ? Good luck with the new ride.

Good Luck:)
The dealership, don't get Okie started on dealerships. He'll gets his new ride delivered to his door by ordering it from the telephone.

He's not the only one--it's just so much more convenient that way! Though I'll admit I use email at least as much as the phone.

I do ~~ I do

Last 3 new cars were over the phone and backed up with Email to get it all in writing

No cash in advance ~~ no credit cards ~~ letting my FICO speak for me.

The dealer(s) so far have not screwed up on "stuff" ~~ so far

Once they have the car in my drive way, they have too much to loose to screw it up

The 3 cars were all non local ~~ up to 356 miles.

True, have never done so myself, I happen to like the tire kicking and remembering a face. I'll forever associate my TDI with a Marlboro smoking Irishman who sold it to me at a local dealer. Ironic, chain smoking TDI salesman.:D

thanks!

Have always liked the 4runner, nice ! That's a lot of leftover money from the buyback to buy RUG or fix her up. Congrats !:)

Probably ok if he added a DPF and dipped his smokes in AdBlue.

It was the red box Marlboro, the strong one ! No AbBlue is the problem, and my DPF got cracked or clogged. At least the EA189 was good for 145,000 miles and the HPFP survived.

My 2009 is supposedly headed to Tennessee. At least that's what the buyback gal said. Somehow I doubt they'll kick up much fuss for an 09 with high mileage. I did have a new 2-piece DPF set up.

Dropped my VW off today. Before I even went in I pulled my own plate off and took the registration to take back to BMV. Was scheduled at 1:30pm got there at 1:00pm and ambassador took me early. Older gentleman nice guy did a fairly good job for probably the little training he's received. Took all of 10 minutes. My transaction email came to my phone 30 seconds after he said he sent it while we sat there and we were done! Oddly though he said I had to go with him to the dealer counter to show that he dropped off the keys with the dealer. That is obviously not necessary and was the dealer scam to ask about plans from replacement. Dealer realized not to mess when I reminded him that by court order he was not to have any contact or conversation from beginning to the end of this transaction. Conversation ended abruptly, lol! Now just waiting for email from chase. Crossing fingers the next step is as smooth as this step was!

You reminded him incorrectly; there's no such provision anywhere in the settlements. But nonetheless, sounds like smooth sailing.

You actually bought a Yeti.......????

Donald
I actually bought two yetis (20qt and 50qt) back in 2010 or 2011 but I sold them when I got the TDi bc I also sold my truck and my boat at the time

the cooler market is much different now than it was 5-7 years ago and there are a lot of great coolers that are equal to yeti for a fraction of the cost. so I bought an RTIC to replace the old yeti (and I bought another boat)

First one returned today

Finally have my first turned in. I am so drained by this process we started back on September 15, that I can hardly feel relieved. Just glad one is done.

I know VW has a lot on their plate with this, but gosh this has been one heck of a process.

I have been talking about it and posting about it for so long it seems surreal.

So it was my 2015 Golf TDI,

Submitted 09/19/16
Verified 11/14/16
Offer 12/17/16
Notarized 12/19/16
Turned in 01/19/17

4 months from original submission
3.5 months from 11/1

2 1/2 months since 11/1. 09/19 date is meaningless. I think 2 1/2 months isn't that bad. I think if they kept more communications updates it would perfectly acceptable.

Glad the process is going smoothly. Scheduled turn in next Friday, 1-27-17. Happy this is going to be over soon. It's been a Long process. I'm very close to going over my mileage and I've got to get something tomorrow! Headed to pick up and Accord Saturday.

Glad you think so.

Being told 3 times by VW since 12/1 that my offer was ready and I would receive it any day is no big deal. It is pretty easy just to sit back and wait for a 23,000 dollar transaction (not financed) to take place when the court it should be transacted by 20 business days and it is now 56.

For me though it sucks. Wish I had your patience.

Nine business days from buyback...

For those waiting for their VW credit loan to be paid of my VW after the buyback... My Passat buyback was the evening of Jan 9th; just today, VW Credit got the check to pay off the balance owed on my loan.

Now, another wait ensues... The payoff of the loan was one monthly payment amount too much. We'll see how long it takes to get that payment in my mailbox.

My TDI is back in the hands of volkswagen.

My last drive was last Thursday. Best overall car I've ever had...

Until I bought a GTI :D
The GTI is a hoot to drive! If you're friendly with the gas pedal and easy with the speed (under 70mph) 40mpg looks like a very real possibility
I managed to get 35mpg on a tank that I used half a tank to go from Baltimore to h2oi and back to Baltimore. The other part of the tank I used to go back and forth to work.

Didn't they have 90 days to complete the process? I found the delay between documents reviewed and offer letter to be annoying because it was over a month without any updates. If they put something on their website explaining the overall delays and how they were working towards fixing the issues I would have felt better.

Overall I am happy with the process and the end result. I never called the help line or sent emails. I am happy how the VW dealer let me have me have the new car before buyback and waited for the check to clear so I could pay them for it. The buy back guy was nice. They paid off my car promptly. We got lucky that we got a buyback and made money off a car we drove for three years.

I am in the same boat as you. Buyback was same day. Non-VW finance (TD) and it looks like it was paid of yesterday (01/20) as I cannot access my online account anymore. 9 business days it appears for me too.

And now I am also waiting for an overpayment check.

Funny two months before turning in my car I spoke with the service manager while doing my last oil change about the process and what was going on. He said the FTC had visited his store reminding the owner and general manager not to speak to any buy back owner while the transaction is taking place. Now I've known that manager very well for four years so I'll take his word over yours! No matter the sales manager didn't blink when I said it and he walked away like I wanted him to!

Just one more note for people who might want to know.
Turned in car on the 18th at 1:30 p.m. Ambassador handed me a piece of paper a cheap printout with info of the next step saying Chase will be sending me an email within 24 hrs. Thought that odd cause the email from VW I got just before I came in said within 3 days.
The email came at 10 p.m. on the 19th. So there still glitches in communication.
Now I'm waiting for the transfer since I completed the info on Friday i probably won't see in the bank till Monday. They have 3 business days to transfer. Waiting with baited breath, ha-ha!
