Bumper protective mat

How did we miss this little "upgrade"? I wish I had found it sooner.
This one fits the A4 Bora/Jetta Sedans, Golf Sedan, B5 & B5.5 Passat Sedans, Lupo and Polo models for the model years listed.

Parts: mat, two disks and two screws

You supply a tape measure, awl, and #1 Phillips screwdriver.

Installed disk (pointed to by the awl so you can find it).

Installed mat

Mat attaches to the disks via Velcro strips. It can be detached and folded up or just rolled up and stowed in the back of the cargo area.

I ordered one for a B5.5 Passat Variant (p/n 3B9-061-190) but it was not shipped as of this writing.

Also a perfect idea for a DIY project.
Just need some durable fabric (maybe with some fleece on the underside)and some velcro, and Bob's your Uncle.

Oh yeah, nothing for Beetles again and we Beetle drivers have the toughest hatch to get stuff into and out of! Guess I'll have to come up with my own creation too. Like Rodney always said "I tell ya I get no respect, no respect at all!

These are available via VW dealers, www.worldimpex.com, www.1stvwparts.com and some other places.

Mark, I have come across p/n 1C0 061 190 that is probably the equivalent for NB.

However, anyone who can take a piece of polyester fabric, leather, vinyl, Kevlar, or whatever material of choice and trim it out as necessary to prevent fraying, then attach a couple of strips of Velcro to the material and the cargo area floor covering would have the equivalent of this.

Also, 1J9 061 190 and 1J9 061 190 A show as part numbers for Golf/Jetta Variants (wagons).

As indicated in the original post I ordered one for the Passat Variant. This also fits the Golf/Bora/Jetta Variants. I finally got around to installing it.

Parts include the mat, two disks and two screws like the one for the Golf, plus two disks for the underside of the standard equipment rear floor mat.

Just measure as indicated in the instructions for the model that you have, and install.

I like this little upgrade, so I did it too. It works great with a Gorilla Gear Cargo liner in the wagon.

Been thinking about a plywood setup similar to yours, I was thinking something that slides out (on server rails of course) to extend past the bumper. But I like your simple idea maybe better.
