hi everyone so I have a 06 brm that has just had a cam done along with new tandem pump with everything back together and timed torsion value is 0.0 - 0.5 the car will start then die like the value is out but then I can try to start it again and it will run ruff and I have to give it throttle to keep it running for maybe 3 mins the it will run fine after that can drive to work over 30mins running like nothing is wrong shut if off at work and go to leave will have to do the same thing to get it to run. once it is runnong and i shut it off it will start with no problems unless it sits for awhile. Also has a EGR block off and Kerma tune. Anything I should be looking at would help thanks.

I’m skeptical that Your torsion is actually at zero. if the computer can’t calculate it. it will read zero. will all the timing tools slide right back in? And are the bolts on the cam gear centered in the slots?

have not tried realigning the holes for the tools but bolts are close to the center it will reed 0.5 at idle then jump 0.0 to 0.5 when driving

Did it run correctly before doing the Cam and timing belt?

Would be interesting to see if it is possible to change it. I like to see a little positive tq.

So I got it to read 1.5 seems to want to stay running after sitting but still is idling rough on start once worm seems to smooth out

Is there any chance you got water in the fuel?
In any case I’d run some fuel additive through it to see if that helps.

A few suggestions.
Get the car up to operating temp and then check torsion at idle. If it isn't between 2-5 then bump it up, a common BRM rough idle issue that can be mitigated in about 30 minutes with a few wrenches and VCDS. I set mine around 3.7.

Also, watch your IQ values of each injector while it runs good and then idles bad. If one seems to max out around 2.99 or near that value when it is running rough while the others stay close to 0 then you have an injector going bad. I had a car that it would start fine after sitting for a while then within a couple of minutes would idle rough and give a missfire CEL. If I increased the RPM for a few minutes the miss would go away. Seeing my IQ for that missfire cylinder I saw the IQ jump and then after warming up the IQ would drop back inline. Replaced the injector and no more problems.
