last of the parts are lined up:

gtb2056vk
pd150s w/r783
02Q 6 speed swap
wavetrack lsd
sbc stge III OFE clutch kit rated for around 500 ft-lbs

took everyone's advice said screw it trying to save a few bucks here and there and just got the right items so hopefully its one and done wrenching on this thing for awhile.

anyone else want to chime in on what their thoughts are for power the bottom end can handle for when i get my tuning ironed out with this? also i forgot that jettagirl has been running her brm for years now at 200+ whp and her car sees the track and more abuse than i think mine will ever see.

should know in another month or so what can be done on this setup and keep the stock internals in tact....at least until next year's tax return comes and have some more dough to play around with...

Hoping to fire it up tomorrow for ya Ryan :). Have to finish welding mid and tail pipe, make drain line, mount actuator, and make a racepipe.

Before welding

The full exhaust.....yes it's that long and 3" was never meant to fit in a mk5 haha

Matt can those manifolds be built without a car present? They look great!
Yeah it could be, I made a jig for it. Didn't have time to make a dp jig though. Thanks!

The monster has been unleashed on the streets of wisconsin :). Unfortunately I ran out of time to meet Ryan schedule and didn't get a chance to install the gauges, but everything else was finished. As soon as the injectors are recalibrated, we'll get to see the full potential. As a man of his word, RyanP is taking car of the injectors as quickly as possible.

BRM actuator on the vk. For anyone planning on doing the swap, have fun - it's a PITA

02Q at home :)

That's one tight fit........but very well engineered.....:)

That looks fantastic! It certainly tempts me to take a trip. I guess it's time to look at the old bank account and see if there's any play money for the car. Your work is most impressive.

Very nice Matt!

I see a lot of commonality between your approach and what David at Driver's Fire and I came up with for my BRM. Yes, that BRM VNT actuator is a PITA!

I am very close to having all my loose ends tied up so that I can get mine on a dyno. I will be posting up a build thread then. It will interesting to compare notes on our outcomes.

i was able to take the car for about a 50 mile cruise on some back roads before i took off for vaca. man after about 1/3 throttle this thing goes from a sleeper then just starts barking....sounds like a mini cummins. the power is there but once getting into 4th & 5th at low rpm/higher load there is definately something going on. i'm going to be ordering up vag-com and probably swapping out the injectors for another set to see if that indeed is the hickup that is going on here. can't wait to get this thing running good...it's going to be a fun ride for sure. car is sitting at home didn't feel comfortable taking it on a long trip just yet, i'll get back at it next week.

I'm dying to see this thing dialed in. The GTB2056vk with R783's should have crazy area under the curve on a dyno sheet. Just out of curiosity, what sort of boost levels are you going to run? I'm guessing in the 28-32 psi range?

not sure what the tune is setup for right now or what the suggested boost is for this turbo. i'll put up a seperate build thread up once everything is ironed out and i can get this on the dyno.

Don't know how the heck I missed this thread for so long...
I've been over 200HP for a few years now, but haven't been racing for just over 2 years. My car is holding up really well - just had to replace the brakes recently (thanks Fixum Haus :)) and I think I need to replace an engine mount... but nothing big.

I'm currently using a tune from Malone Tuning, have a JSP Stage III clutch, GT 2056 waste gated turbo (still working beautifully), and PD 150's. I also have a custom exhaust and dp built by JSP.

You can check out my website... it hasn't been updated since 2008, but not much has changed on my car since then except the wrap. ;) Oh, and there is also the dyno chart on the website.

Let me know if you would like any more info on my car... I'm more than happy to help! :) Happy modding!

I'm going to be racing down in Portland on 08/20/2011 - we'll see how the car does with how rusty I'm sure I'm gonna be... lol
