Relay Kit Article

has anyone read this article about adding relays? http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/relays/relays.html

I've read it and it's all sound theory. I've actually done a similar mod under an Airworthiness Directive when I worked at U.S. Airways. (Not surprisingly, some aircraft wiring/lighting design was deemed to be unsafe and we had to redo the entire fleet. It was almost exactly the same as the kit described here.)

This makes perfect sense and the article's assertion of improved performance correlates with Kirchoff's Law.

Has anyone at tdiclub (or maybe even on Vortex, I'm not a member there) actually done this to a Jetta? How much of a PITA was it?

In order to get a halogen lamp to produce a color temperature of 4300K without filters, you need to overdrive the filament. This will produce the desired color temperature as well as more light, and it will also significantly reduce the life of the lamp.
