I buy my stuff from primechoiceautoparts. White box rotors/pads. Never had an issue with them on any of our VW's.

Too many.
Best price certainly does not equal best quality. Why would you skimp on a safety item? How much do you pay for insurance every year??

They are all made in china or taiwan.

I put $16 rear brake pads on my jetta. They work just fine. They just might not last as long as $100 set. Front pads were $22 or something and has the wear sensor. Their cheap rear rotors for mkiv are $14 lol

Rarely are products made in good ol' north america anymore. Most are made in China and Taiwan. Maybe the QC will not be as high as a brembo rotor, but they still pass QC regardless.

I only replied with a location where I buy brake parts. Nobody is forcing him to buy from there..

None
Steve6.... You get what you pay for. After 1 winter with cheapo rotors, pedal pulsations were off the chart after 20,000 kms....unless you like changining out the cheap stuff every spring if you do considerable mileage. Brakes of all parts should be quality.....period, and I don't want you and your cheapo rotors riding my bumper.....and no, my brakes were made in Germany....brembo, Zimmerman,jurid....even ate front discs are German.

Autopartsway.ca isnt bad either. I always order zimmerman coated rotors and either trw or akebono pads. Pricing is fair. And sometimes they have free shipping offers

About three years ago I did a complete brake job, BTW: NEVER AGAIN !!! I did it in Mexico "cause I got lots of car down time there since I have a motorcycle there. I sometimes don't drive the car for 4 weeks.
All rotors are drilled no-name off eBay and have not given me any grief.
I got the pads off eBay. The front were the wrong ones and I gave them to a local mechanic I have dealt with and I ended up having to buy front pads at Autozone in Mexico for about Cdn$ 30.00.
Best damn pads I have ever had on any of my front disk brake equippeed cars. The are/were a gold color and cause none of the black brake dust on the front rims ever!!!!

They have a good selection of pads and rotors from reasonably cheap to higher end stuff. Never had worries from Zimmermann or Brembo rotors with Pagid pads.

i've installed original from VW, Zimmerman, and Chinese crap on the fleet over the years.

Predictably, the chinese stuff was... wait for it... crap. I had front discs last about 4 months on the Golf. Sure they were dirt cheap, but i don't need practice changing brakes all the time

The VW stuff (from the dealer) easily lasted the longest and was the most resistant to rust. But you pay a penalty in the price.

I've been installing Zimmerman on everything for the last little while, and whereas I WAS always happy, the last few sets I've installed have been rusting prematurely and the set I just installed on the wagon are already vibrating after only 8 mths (LCA bushings are new)

Not sure where I'll get my next set from - I deal with a Euro auto parts place up here (similar to Perjad in the GTA). But I think i'll spring for original VW for my DD just to avoid the headache of redoing brakes in 1 year or less.

good luck ordering mk6 jetta stuff from autoparts way...its all mk4 stuff they list almost and if you pay with pay pal you get no money back and in store credit. Got a table full of mk4 brakes because they list all the wrong parts that i either return for useless instore credit or sell cheap to cover the other set i ordered from ecs

I'm done with aftermarket stuff. My most recent set of 4 rotors and pads were from the VW dealership. They've been on for I don't know how long but still no warping and they don't rust up on a humid night!

parts source is really good. I bought the cheapest certified rotors, and some half decent pads for a really good price. Would have bought better rotors then the rock bottom cheapest. Hotspot can be ok, I know they have the best price on wheel bearings @20$ with a year warranty. Had them in for a while without issue, the better brands I have had less luck with.

you should buy from Autozone or PepBoys. They carry quality products at reasonable price. You can have those installed at PepBoys. Your buying and installing will benefit US economy as it help someone in keeping his job.

PM me if you're interested in selling the brakes. I'm especially looking for good fronts.

I used Brian at Roseland Technical Services in NS for my last set of rear brakes. Brian is reasonably priced and sells quality parts.

I just bought at Rockauto in the USA. Please note that to they will ship to Canada even though I am shipping to USA. Also they quote in Cad$ but charge in USD. So use your USA visa. I bought AKEBONO EUR768 Pads (without sensor) $48.89 (IDparts and Karma sells them for $99.95) and a pair of CENTRIC 12733054 cross drilled vented sport rotors $139.58 shipping $29.85 total $218.32 USD. Should take delivery at months end. I'd like to organize a get together in September or October to learn how to put them on myself. My Mechanic keeps asking why I have him do it so I guess he thinks it's something I can do.
