You can use Vag-Com to disable the warning light, or you can just short the two connector wires and that should clear it...

Yuri.

PS: the vag-com routine is as follows (at least that's how it was on the older cars)
:
Select: INSTRUMENTS
Select: RECODE
NOTE: At this screen you'll see the instrument configuration setting. You will be making a change to the first (left two #) two digits of the software coding.
For examble the software coding is set to 07XXX.
To turn off the brake-pad wear sensor reduce the first 2 digits by one (1).
Change the software coding to 06xxx.
Save the change and you're done.
This will turn off the brake-pad wear sensor

Which wheel is the brake wear indicator on?

My indicator just turned on yesterday, but the brakes were redone only a few months ago. I'd just like to disable the thing by shorting it or worst case getting someone to recode it.

I'd like to fix my wear sensor

My wear sensor came on. I checked my pads. My rears were way low and ready to change. I changed them (no sensor plug i could see in pads), and thanked my wear sensor. But it did not go out. I like it and want to fix it. The front pads are ok with about 1/4 of an inch of pad.

The wear sensor only applies to the front pads and is, well, notorious for alarming the owner early.

Worse than that, I'm afraid...

It only applies to one of the four front pads... if there's a brake problem other than the thinning out of the inside left pad, the system leaves the driver clueless...

Brakes must be checked every time you rotate your tires.

Even though your outside brake pad shows a 1/4" the inside pad may be worn much further. The indicator pad (the one with the wire) is on the inside on the drivers side. Make sure the wire is properly plugged in and the wire is not broken.

Thanks. Wow. I guess I just had a lucky coincidence.
