sure could use some real world, experience based advice on what brakes to upgrade to. I've always had good luck with PowerStop on other vehicles, but if anybody has had good luck upgrading to other brands, I would appreciate it. I don't tow a lot, but I do a bit of mountain driving, so rotors warping has been an issue with my Touareg.

2011 Touareg TDI Executive model. 20" wheels 330mm rotors

Thanks in advance!

A few things come to mind.

Are you "upgrading" to something like you'd find on a Cayenne TT, Bentayga, or Urus? Or more specifically improving on the existing spec with higher quality parts?

There are many quality brands available: Powerstop, Zimmerman, Brembo, ATE, etc. Just get what you can find on sale when you buy.

Fluid will make a big difference, not a bad idea to do a flush when you do a rotor/pad service (or every two years). Goodridge makes s/s lines too, you'll be ordering the Q7 version if you opt to do so.

This statement is fraught with misinformation. Your issue is almost certainly uneven brake pad deposits on the brake rotor from being over heated. There are ways to combat this, mostly through adaptation of driving habits.

Couldn't find the original white paper that StopTech did back in the day, but this article covers the gist of the subject.

I put 18Z 6 piston calipers and 350mm rotors on mine.

I think I used zimmerman rotors and some type of ceramic pads.
