I think all the bosio ones are, I got the 764's from Paul and they totally rock, I've knocked 3 seconds off my 0-60 time with these nozzles alone and uphill the car still pulls like a train, fantastic!:D

With all the sketchy nozzles we've seen out there lately...just a reminder:

Consider asking the vendors with the Wonder Nozzles to show the photographs of any supposed factory, the machines used to make the nozzles, and the factory location... and to just tell you where they are made and by whom. Could it be.... ?:-D

Bosio is a factory just outside of Torino ,Italy....owned by the same family for Three Gererations with state of the art machines, the best metallurgy, and top engineering and design.

kermaTDI has been importing and distributing Genuine Bosio Nozzles since 2002.

so what size nozzle would be good for a 15 turbo and a tune?
Depends a bit on where the upgrade plans might lead you....

Genuine PowerPlus 520 nozzles or the new Genuine Bosio DLC-1019 nozzles.

In both cases this is based on having them properly calibrated by us to the optimal pressure settings for low smoke and best fuel efficiency.

When calibrated by us these nozzles come with our 5 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty and free recalibration and cleaning at 100,000 miles

We can also recalibrate the injector/nozzle set if you make major modifications and need more fuel flow.

Nozzle selection:

I'm looking for nozzles+balancing for my stock Passat 1Z setup. I plan to adjust IQ to eliminate smoke as I'm not getting a tune right away. I'll drive around the Passat for a little while before I swap the engine into my vw bus.

After my engine is swapped in to my bus, I'll get a tune to increase boost and make better use of the nozzles.

I'm not planning on a turbo upgrade, but if my turbo were to break in the future, then I would upgrade it.

I know that the PP520 should be a good fit for my application, but as the PP764 is the same cost maybe I should just get those "just in case" I get a bigger turbo later.

Does that make sense? Can I make the PP764 smoke free without a tune?

(and if so, why would anyone get the PP520 when they could have PP764s that deliver the same performance plus more growth options?)

Thanks!
Mark

The new Bosio DLC-1019 is a perfect nozzle for many applications for this very reason.

The DLC 1019 is larger than the PowerPlus 520 .. and closer in size to the PowerPlus 764.

And it has the Diamond Like Carbon coating for ultra long life with ULSD low sulphur diesel fuel.

In the old days... we thought of orifice size and a PP520 would be perfect for some vehicles...and a PP764 would be too smoky

Now we think of nozzles in terms of flow.. we are able to measure flow exactly on two different fuel test systems and precisely match nozzle sets and injector calibration.

With our calibration settings then we can now set flow and this gives us much more latitude in terms of using a larger nozzle and set the flow for a mild engine set up ...

...and then recalibrate as needed for additional performance mods.

I run our PP764's with VNT 17 and kerma chip tune on our 1998 New Beetle and this is a great setup!

Bear in mind that we built this car before the DLC 1019's existed... so if I built a similar project now I could use either DLC 1019 or PP764

Back then, we had PP764 nozzles in an 'Old School' injector install and we wanted to compare and see the gains from the Injector Calibration Program... and we were really happy with the improvements. [ Better fuel economy, ultra low smoke, smoother engine operation ]

Since the data indicates the DLC nozzles will last 250,000 miles ...I don't think I'll be swapping injectors again

Thanks for the explanation. I read some more on your website which was also very helpful.

Please check my thinking:

I'd like to avoid recalibration since I'm hoping to get the tune within 90 days or so. I'm thinking to get the 1019 setup at Stage 2 now. That will put me in a good place when I get my tune.

As I'll be driving around before the tune at stock boost, if I have smoke I can adjust the IQ to eliminate it.

Or maybe I'm better off buying stage 1 and getting a tune and not worrying that I could have had a few more hp/tq at stage 2. I'd be very happy with ~130 hp/220 torque once I'm tuned. Is that reasonable with a Stage 1 1019 nozzle, stock turbo 1Z with tuning?

Last question :D Is there TDIClub deal on the 1019+balancing/calibration?

Thanks,
Mark

I'd use the Stage 2 setting...this should work great! We will send you all the IQ setup info so you will get great results...and I see no reason why you would need to recalibrate. Contact me and I'll do some sort of deal!

@markd89 I get no smoke from my pp 764's on a standard 90 and if the 1019's are anything like the 764's then you'll be grinning lol, I was like that for ages after fitting them. I couldn't believe the difference, like going up hill and still accelerating as if there wasn't a hill. Just need a tune, bigger turbo, colt cam etc now lol.:)

What would be the best thing to fit to my 90BHP 1z motor? i want more power, and think i need a clutch soon, so im happy to swap that over for a beefier one.

Also, how would i go about getting ym injectors to you for a fit and tune up bearing in mind im in england, and you're a long way away? Whats the turn around time?

My engine is stock turbo, stock cooler, stock clutch but exhaust will be de catted / and straight thru with no mufflers?

What sort of power / torque can i expect, sorry for all the questions, just a bit new to this diesel tuning malarky :)

Hi

You might look at the DLC 520 nozzles, or PP520 or DLC 1019 nozzles

20 HP and 20 to 40 ft/lbs of torque are the gains [ depending on which nozzle ]

Injector Calibration and Hot Swap are a good way to set these up

Shipping to the UK is no problem..and turn around is fairly quick

I will include some links

Cheers
Paul
