Electronics group Robert Bosch GmbH lifted sales for 1999 by 7% to 54 billion marks ($27.3 billion or 27.6 billion euros), with business in the fourth quarter particularly strong, company officials said.
Chief executive Hermann Scholl delivered a more modest forecast of 5% sales growth for 2000. He said group sales would be weakened by a downturn in the automobiles industry in Europe and the U.S. However, declines would be offset by sales of new high end products in diesel engine technology, he explained.
