Hi,

I'm this close (--> <--) to getting my wife to join my daughter and me to the TDI Fest. She normally does not come to VW gatherings since she's certain she'd be bored out of her mind. She's not registered here for the same reason.

A little birdy told me there may be three or four OTHER bored wives coming. Is there any interest in getting them connected before the Fest so they can do something on their own? I know MY wife's constrant is that our car will be tied up at the show-n-shine and other stuff. Besides, she doesn't like to drive it... sez it "rides like a jackhammer" and she likes her Passat better. :p

Anyway, please post up if you have any ideas.

Thanks!

Scott

Scott,

This is a actually an excellent idea. My wife's a trooper and will tolerate TDI-talk and such, but I sure she'd rather spend time doing something else. I don't have suggestions, but I'll mention this post and see what she says. Maybe others can offer some ideas too.

Beta K will be there, don't know what she plans on doing. But she will be more than happy to see a few other female faces.

Bruce,

Please consider it. As it stands, I have a two-day class to attend on Wed-Thu before the Fest. There's no sense in me returning to S. MD Thursday evening when I'm just going to turn around and drive to PA the next day. Therefore, I'm going to have my wife drive to my place in MD Tuesday night, then return home the following Tuesday after the Fest.

If she doesn't go for that, then Diana will not come. With my schedule, it's an "all or nothing" kind of thing for them. I hope to know her plan before the last minute.

Thanks,

Scott

OK. If there are guaranteed playmates for her, can do. I believe that I can convince the school that Valley Forge is an educational trip. Of course, first grade is really hard so they may not agree.

EDIT: Miss Rachel will attend, cleared with school.

Mrs. MCA (Carmen) and the two girls (Melody, 10 and Ashley 9) will be there as well. They are looking forward to hanging out with Metalnerd's daughter Gina.

And of course Valley Forge is an educational trip Bruce - where else can you learn what a Hoagie is supposed to taste like? ;)

Mrs. Nuke and Isabella (age 5) will be there. My wife plans on going to the QVC studio/store at some point, plus I'm sure she has maps to every scrapbooking store within 100 miles. I'll just need a lift to the brewery tour. Nope, don't need a ride back...just leave me there. :)

My wife (Michelle) and two little kids Ryan (5) and Natalie (2) will be tagging along with me. I think they are planning to go to Sesame Place (about an hour away) on Saturday.

Geocaching anyone?

My wife is preparing to increase our number of geocache finds while we journey to PA then VA then back home, so, she will be out and about with our GPS.

I probably will go with on a few sometime Saturday.

Don't know what Geocaching is??

www.geocaching.com

She will have the Jetta - too many scratches, dog hair, and bone stock to be in the show and shine anyway. (Yeah, I know there were a number of stock vehicles last year as I was directing parking  "Hey, you, in the orange shirt!)

We are happy to introduce others to this activity! :) :)

Since it appears there will be some kids around, I may convince my Wife to come with daughter V (age 11) and R3.0 (age 6).

Franklin Institute is awesome, btw.

Well,

Due to some scheduled training that week, my wife and child won't be coming. I'll be in Northern VA all week... too far for them to drive up and too far for me to drive all the way back down just to turn around and head back up. So the bad news is NO DIANA. The good news is I'll be there a day early.

Another heads-up in the shopping department for the foodies among us:

-Trader Joe's is a 5-minute drive. Good times!

-Wegman's is about 15 minutes away (actually right along the route to Victory Brewing). Well worth the drive for the cheese department alone.

-Manayunk is a great little town with lots of restaurants on its Main Street, including LeBus Bakery (reknowned breads).

Jessica,

I plan on hitting Trader Joe's sometime Saturday mid-afternoon (between Karting & Victory). You're welcome to tag along if you'd like. I'll be in the rain-soaked Passat.
