I am new to the forums but not new to my TDI. It’s a 2002 MKIV Golf TDI, ALH. I have owned it for 8 years and put over 100k miles on it (at 200k now). Since owning the car I have noticed that the boost is inconsistent through the rev range under acceleration. For example, I will be accelerating from a stop and the boost works its way up to the high teens (I have a scanguage which gives me a readout). As I pass a few thousand RPM (~3000), the boost will stop and the car will not accelerate as quickly (because of no boost). After maybe a few hundred RPM the boost will come back on to the high teens. I have noticed it to be pretty consistent at turning off at certain RPMs where it cuts (around the same area everytime). Has anyone else had similar issue or could point me in the correct direction to investigate? Tomorrow I can experiment and give some more exact numbers on RPM and boost levels. The car is completely stock btw. Thanks in advance!
