Hey so I wanna remove the muffler on my BEW, however I live in a high altitude area and read somewhere that a freed up exhaust system encourages more boost creep, especially on the little kp turbos. My question is, should I worry about this at all? I will not be touching the cat which seems to affect it the most, also the car is stock just looking for a bit more sound.

No. Because boost is controlled not by restriction on the exhaust but quite the opposite.
If you want more sound larger downpipe with a high flow cat and a resonator.
You wont see much of a difference with a muffler removal.
